What's The Next Thing To Disappear at MK?

Taking bets on the next attraction to close it's doors forever at the Magic Kingdom.

My money is on either Tomorrowland Indy Speedway getting a much needed re-imagining or Stitch being put out of it's misery.

It would be great if either one were enhanced or replace with something different. However, I don't know if they will be doing too much at MK anytime soon. I think they have their hands full with AK, DHS, and Epcot.

I wouldn't be mad with them replacing Stitch or country bear jamboree.

I'd also like to see the Speedway space utilized better or have something more exciting. But I don't see that happening

I agree the speedway will go next, as well as Stitch.

As far as what I'd like to see happen, well...

As much as I love the Tiki Birds, it's time. I feel this way about the Jungle Cruise (Sacrilege, I know), and the treehouse. Basically, all of Adventureland could use a serious re-imagining, imo.

I'd be happy with both of these ideas. They could definitely do some fun stuff with the Speedway to make it more modern and eco friendly. And I'd personally love to go back to a scary alien themed attraction for stitch. But I doubt that'd ever happen...

The Tiki Room is not likely to go anywhere considering they spent the time and effort to return it to a semi-original form after the Tiki gods caused Iago to burst into flames. The fact that they've gone out of their way to streamline but, more or less, keep the original Tiki Room and Country Bear performances leads me to believe they won't be going anywhere any time soon.

The SFR treehouse could use an update for sure. The script and animatronics for the Jungle Cruise could be redone too. But the footprint for the treehouse is tiny, not much else is going to be able to go there. The Jungle Cruise is still incredibly popular and something that the company seems to like. The Jungle Cruise related stuff outside of MK suggests it isn't going to be drastically altered soon either.

As for major ride attractions, Stitch getting the boot for something else is likely in the semi-near future. It's not as terrible as everyone says (the Stitch animatronic is really well done as are the defense gun arms) but the line is always dead. Buzz Lightyear needs a drastic overhaul as does the Speedway (who hasn't predicted this relic will be leaving?) but I think the next thing to leave MK is going to be minor.

My real money is on something like Sonny Eclipse being removed from Cosmic Ray's, the removal of the stage that currently houses the Incredibles Dance Party, or the loss of the Frontierland Shootin' Arcade. The impact would be minimal and wouldn't require an investment to build a new attraction immediately.

While I suppose the first two aren't really "attractions" I'm going to go ahead and include them anyway.

I would just like to see something done with Adventureland, but I know those attractions won't be touched for a long time, especially not the Jungle Cruise with the new restaurant that's coming. I do love those attractions, they're classics, but they're woefully dated. Jungle Cruise could use some new animatronics. Most people won't even sit through Tiki Birds anymore.

Now I do think Stitch is terrible. Alien Encounter was such an awesome attraction. Stitch is just Alien Encounter on life support.

You're right about the Shootin' Arcade. It doesn't even work anymore. :worried: Neither does Buzz.

If you think Tiki Room was bad with Iago, you better sit down for this... Tiki Room at Tokyo Disneyland features STITCH!!!! :scared: :faint: :scared1:

I had to watch on YouTube... The stitch animatronics all look so great but here it looks out of place next to the birds. Disney attractions have made stitch an annoying character to me.

I worry sometimes about Tom Sawyers Island. Luckily it's hard to get to at least as long as the riverboat runs. I hope that they both stick around.

I wouldn't mind losing any of the rest that people have mentioned except Jungle Cruise. Go ahead and update it but keep the spiel. I love the CM's that work there.

I agree. I think they'll get rid of the Rivers of America. IMO the goal of the current management is to increase theme park capacity. If they cement up the Rivers of America they could build more gift shops and restaurants.

so funny-my DH LOATHES the corny spiel and hasn't ridden this for 15 years or more

I agree, I think Jungle Cruise, Tiki Room and Country Bear are going to be around for a long, long, long time.
