What's the MOST you've spent on a WDW vacation?

I really need to let my DH read this thread! :goodvibes
We are currently planning a trip for June:

2 adults and 2 children - although Disney wants to charge them adult prices for tickets :smooth:

8 nights lodging on site - $571.00
tickets - MYW for 10 days, plus, hop, no exp - $1600. - we are planning our iternary so that we can use these tickets 2 times so budget purposes $800.

2 sit down meals - $200
other food cost - $200 for week
misc spending - $200

So less than $2000 :goodvibes
The only other expense not included is gas. My dh looks at it as we would have that expense even if we stayed home (we drive ALOT).
We have done it this way 4 other times and it works really well for our family. Also, this frugal budget allows us to take our ski trip at Christmas. :cool1:

oops...sorry I seem to have stumbled into the rich family board.... :)

Probably around $3-4000

That is too cute, you have probably mastered the art of vacation planning and keeping costs down, i too hope to get to that level someday
i don't want to say rich or use the word poor cuz i am no gates or oprah but when i was in grad school still saving for law school i spent this much, i struggled so hard to get the money i blocked out all the stress i had planning the trip-lol

$1,128.00 Round Trip Airfare for 5
$1,085.00 7 Nights POR
$1,381.00 5 - 7 Day Hopper/Plus Passes
$2,000.00 Spending Money

Total $5,594.00

YIKES!!! I have NEVER spend that much on a vacation in my life!!!
We usually go camping in TENTS!!!

I am sooooo excited to go, I have wanted to do this forever!!! :Pinkbounc

I tried not to add it all up!

I guess it's anywhere from $5000-6000 per trip.

Our last trip, which was in Nov/Dec 2004 was our most expensive and it cost about $3,500. On the plus side we will get 2 more trips out of our AP's and those trips should both be pretty cheap. Oh, my DH is active duty Navy, so we take advantage of any military discounts that roll our way as well.

Here's the breakdown

Lodging ~ $350
Time Share Trade
1 Night in Transit
2 Extra Nights in Orlando

Theme Park Tickets ~ $1,500
2 Adult and 2 Child's Annual Passes
4 Tickets to MVMCP

Food & Groceries ~ $1,000
Macaroni Grill, Donald's Breakfastasaurus, CRT, PSB, LTT, Ohana, Plaza Rest., Brown Derby, Alfredo, and others...

Gas ~$150
Drove from Chesapeake, VA

Souvenirs/Photos/Misc ~ $500

OK Here we go: 2 adults, 2 kids

Last trip 7 for 4 deal-- $1700, for CBR room, and park tickets, $650 for airfare, and hotel at airport, and $2000 for food, soveniers, cark from airport etc. = $4350

This trip-- 8 nights at Pop MW package w/ 7 day hoppers, and dining $2488 airfare, plus airport parking $600, rental car $118 spending $$, $1000 = $4200

There were more, but they have always seemed to cost about the same. I thought it a lot of $$, but I guess not, looking at other's totals.

In August of 2002 we spent four nights at WDW at the Poloynesian, LV CL, then went on the Magic in a Cat 3 room for a week, then back to WDW for three nights YC WV CL. All in all I have no idea how much it cost, but I'm sure it was around $9,000.

We flew first class, but on FF tickets, so that part was free :)

We had planned on the cruise for awhile, but when DH and I both got nice bonuses we tacked on the extra days before and after at WDW.

This trip will be the most we've ever spent. We usually drive, we don't usually stay deluxe because according to my DH "we're not The Rockefellers, ya know!", and we don't eat out every meal like we'll be doing for DW.

airfare for 5 $1700 got a great deal from Montana
Poly 6 nights $2125 GV :earseek:
towncar $100
Park tix $900
Food $1000
Souvenirs $500

Total at DW $6,465

Plus for a few more thousand we're going to Clearwater Beach for a week. It really shows me how expensive DW is to consider my 2nd week will be 1/3 the cost. We won't be doing this again for a long time because we really aren't the Rockefellers! :teeth:

Most expensive will be our trip this April:

2 adults, 1 child, 1 infant

$300 - gas, rt CT to WDW
$150 - 2 nights hotel during roadtrip, 1 nt hotel each on the trip down & back
$200 - food during roadtrip
$1202.75 - Annual Passes
$851 - 7 nights @ POFQ (AP rate)
$50 - DDE card
$750 - food at WDW (at least one sit-down each day, 2 character meals)
$200 - travel turtle for car
$300 - portable DVD player to keep kids entertained on roadtrip
$300 - spending money

$4303.75 - Total

But our trip in Sept. will be a bit less:

$300 - gas, rt CT to WDW
$150 - 2 nights hotel during roadtrip, 1 nt hotel each on the trip down & back
$200 - food during roadtrip
$956.22 - 8 nights @ POFQ (AAA rate - est.)
$875 - food at WDW (at least one sit-down each day, 2 character meals)
$300 - spending money

$2781.22 - Total

So, I'll manage to get two long trips for less than the amount that some people spend on one trip. It's all about priorities -- I'd rather go on two trips to a Moderate than one trip to a Delux with concierge.

EthansMom (and Molly's too)

For 3 adults and 3 children, 5 nites at ASM, park hoppers, airfare, and magical express to and from airport.. $3244 thru my travel agent for all six of us. I will be taking 2500 cash for food and out of that hopefully, ps with CRT, Donald's Breakfast......and Fantasmic dinner package and maybe dinner at Wispering Canyon. I hope to come home with some left over for my fall trip to Vegas!!! That is a total of around $6000.

My trip in 2001 was my most expensive. About $2300!! :faint: I purchased a package though, but I know better now. That $2300 was for 9 days and 8 nights. Our next trip is for 8 days and 7 nights for only about $1000!! :cool1: :cool1: :cheer2: :cheer2: Thank goodness for these boards AND for being a FL resident! :teeth:

Back in 1998 we (family of 5 back then) spent around $4,500 and that was staying offsite for 10 days and driving down from Virginia. Oh, but we did include side trips to Fort Lauderdale and Cape Canaveral, too, so I suppose it wasn't THAT bad.

Thanks to this site we are better at vacation planning now. ::MickeyMo

Wow I had not actually added it up but our trip in 2001 with
6 nights POR
4 night DCL
2 nights WL

was over $5000.oo

NOW I must also share with you my cheapest trip!! I sooo wanted to go to WDW and DH said we couldn't afford it so I scrimped and saved and we went for $990.00. Me, DH, DD(6), DD(2)

We drove, I cooked all our meals except for 1 splurge at San Angel. stayed at Days Inn Suites- I got us a suite with a full kitchen for $36 a night. I cried when I saw the room. It was on the third floor and the whole third floor was crooked. You felt like you would fall off the balcony as you walked to the room. I put a blanket on the sofa b/c it was so nasty I did not want the girls sitting on it. (hence the yuck!! in my signature) DH laughed and asked me what I expected for $36 a night. We made the best of it and at least I go to go to the "Happy Place" each day even if I had to sleep at the "Nasty Place" each night.

p.s. That was a long time ago. Now in my old age I would have made them give us a nicer cleaner room $36 or not. ;)

WOW on some of your totals! I was freaking out about spending $675 on airfare for 4 (2 adults, 5 yr dd, 2 1/2 yr dd), $2900 on the Moderate hotel w/dining plan for 9 nights, park hopper plus for 7 days.

So, about $3500 total so far, figure another $350 we have as Disney Dollars from the Disney Visa that will be spending money while there. We might do a day at Sea World, not sure, and we still have to have transportation to/from the airport, so max should be $4000? OMG that is so much.

For a 10 day trip, that is really not bad honestly.

Nora, going for first time in forever April 22 - May 1

Going for the first time in Sept/Oct.
Family of 5 (one is and infant though)

7 nights at WL(woods view)
park hopper plusses
free dining 2769.00

4 RT tickets from Philly to MCO 707.00

4 tickets to mnsshp 135.00
4 tickets to Hoop-dee-doo 150.00? (can't remember exactly)
souviniers and incidentals 1000.00
Yikes! 4761.00

In 2003 we took my mother in law and her sister along with our two kids for seven days. I think it was about $10,000 worth of trip. We stayed in a BWV two bedroom - we are members - that includes valuing the points at "my cost" of $6 per. It also included airfare for six from Minnesota (home of expensive flights to Orlando).

I don't know if its this year's trip or last year's trip.

Let's see:

Last year:

APs 2 adults, 3 kids $1850.00
Hotels
8 nights at GF (AP rate)
Garden view $2400.00
Air Fare
5 on AIr Trans $ 900.00
Hotel
3 nights at HRH $ 900.00
Universal passes $ 500.00
Food and souveniers $2500.00
Tiffany Town Care $ 150.00

THis year
Passes (APS) - 0 -
Hotels
11 nights at GF
lagoon view
Ap rate $4400.00
Air Fare
5 on Southwest $ 900.00
Hotel
4 nights at HRH
CLub level $1400.00
2 nights at Nick $ 400.00
Universal passes $ 500.00
Food and souveniers $4000.00
(estimate)

Tiffany town car $ 200.00

2004- approximately $9200
2005-approximately/$11800

OMG I hope DH never reads this thread. I pay for the trip over a years time (pay down hotel, buy Disney Dollars, save change) so I never really sat down and added it up. Well at least we had a long vacation - 11 nights in 2004, and 17 nights/18 days this year.

Forgot to add for this trip: SeaWorld Tickets $250.00
Dinner w/Shamu $150.00
So the grand total for this trip is over $12,000!

7 nights at Ft. W cabins with ultimate park hopper tickets, doing a few character meals, buying whatever we wanted, getting t-shirts, toys, pictures, etc...

grand total $5,000. for a family of 7.

(includes travel both ways, all food and groceries)

I guess about 12,000.00 for 16 nights - but 5 of the nights were at Universal... so the Disney portion would be 9,000.00
:confused3

This was for flights, 7 nights BC CL, 4 Nights AKL CL, hoopdeedoo, luau, nice sit down meals, character meals, scavenger hunt at epcot & spending money.

I am in the processing on planning my first trip for July - so we haven't actually gone yet. There are three adult and three kids staying at Fort Wilderness for 8 days. So far between the lodging, passes (for Disney and Sea World) and all the "extras" (like Fantasmic Dinner Meal, Wishes Cruise, etc) I am at about $6000.
We will have to add in for gas (driving down) and eating out and souveneirs. I have set aside another $4000 for spending there - so I will be around $10K when all said and done. Not so bad considering that this is our first trip and probably won't be back for another 5 years or so. My oldest will be 11 while we are there and I figure in another 5years he will have a different appreciation seeing Disney as a full fledge teenager. :rotfl2:
