What's the MOST you've spent on a WDW vacation?

August, 2004 - 10 nights

Annual passes - 2 adult, 2 kids - $1500
hotel (5 nights CR Tower, 5 nights YC water view) - $2800 (with annual passholder discount)
car - $475 (National SUV)
airline tickets - $750
food and souveniers - $2500 (we ate at places like Le Cellier, CG, Boma, etc. and bought alot of stuff).

December, 2004 - 4 nights

hotel - BC water view - $1100
car - $200 (National minivan)
airline tickets - $625
food and souveniers - $800
MVMCP tickets - $140

Total for 2004 - about $11,000 (and it has actually all been paid for).

We will take one trip in 2005 to WDW - use our annual passes one last time and then leave WDW alone for a year or two :sad2: :sad2: .

For our family of 6 we spent about $6300.
Airfare $1500
Parkhoppers $1200
Lodging $900
Car Rental $230
Food & Souvis ate up the rest of it.

We could have definately done it cheaper but since we only do 1 big trip a year we figured going in that we would spend about this much.

For our upcoming trip - family of 6 adults 5 children, airfare, Caribbean Beach Resort,park hoppers, food, cars to and from airport estimated it will cost $15,000. :flower:

I guess the most expensive trip to Disney would be the year that we joined DVC. Other than that it would be the cruise we are about to take.

$2,300 for 4 people
$ 150 for gas
$ 60 for motel
$ 200 tips
$ 350 excursions
$ 100 kids spending
$ 200 adult spending
$ 120 baskets waiting in room from Shirley
$ 20 Palo brunch hoping
$ 150 DVC at BCV
$ 200 food for drive and night and day at BCV
$ 100 extras
TOTAL--$3,950--WOW this is the first time I have seen it broken down.

This does not include any items that we needed to buy for the trip--as of this moment I have not finished doing that :confused3

Our very first trip we stayed at ASM for 6 nights with a package and it cost us $1,500 for the room and tickets. We took $900 for food and $600 for spending. Gas was $100 R/T and about $50 for food R/T. Kids had 50 each to spend =$100. Hotel there and back $120. We over budgeted for a family of 4 --2 adults and a 7 and 4 year old. We ended up having enough left over to stay an extra night at Disney and add a day to Universal. Total cost $3,370. I thought we did it cheaper, but I guess I was wrong.

We spent about $10K on our honeymoon. We did the 4 day land/3 day sea package. We stayed at the Poly and had the meal plan and then on the cruise had an awesome room with a veranda. Once we finished with the cruise, we stayed in the Hard Rock Hotel in Universal for another 3 nights. It was such a wonderful trip!

I didn't think of counting our DVC purchase, but I guess that would be it. I never did add up what we spent on vacation plus the cost of our points, but I'd guess it totalled $10,000 at most.

Our friends, on the other hand, shocked and amazed me by their spending when we vacationed together. A family of 3, they spent $5000 in 5 days. Doesn't sound too bad, but take this into consideration: we let them stay in a studio using our points, we gave them their theme park passes as a gift, AND they drove down to Florida! I can't even imagine what the total would have been if they had needed to pay for air fare, hotel stay, and theme park passes. :scared1:

We spent about $10K on our honeymoon in 2000. It was just DH and I and we did 7 nights at Poly and the 4 night cruise. Our most recent trip, Dec. 04, was about $8K or so. We did 5 nights AKL and 4 nights GF Lagoon view. Plus we had DD who even though she was under 3 we still had to buy her food and souveniers. Since we only go about every 2 years, we splurge on our trips. And we always go for about 10 days if we can since we come from the West Coast and a lot of time is wasted travelling on the first and last days of vacation. DH has his own side business (on top of his regular job) that pays for our trips.

oops...sorry I seem to have stumbled into the rich family board.... :)

Probably around $3-4000

Everyone is welcomed here! :)
"rich" is in the mind of the beholder. While some maybe able to spend more on a trip, others proably wouldn't want to pay the taxes for those folks. Everything is relative, there is no rich vs. "poor" in my mind. We all put our pants on one leg at a time in the morning. :)

We usually spend about the same each year - around 10,000 for the five of us for 8 nights. We have to go peak season though because my oldest is in middle school and she cannot afford to miss more than a day or so of school. Just a regular room at the GF is costing us around $5000 and that is with a code. I really wish our county would start having a fall break in October because I'm sure we could really save some money!

About 5000.00 This was with 3 days in parks 1 day Blizzard Beach. 5 nights at POR. And round trip flights

Wow, I never tallied up the last trip which was by the far the most expensive yet! It kinda hurts not to think about it, but I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Oct 22-Nov 1 2004

Started out at a 6 night trip, but after having so much fun (and disney honored my booking code for a discount for WL, we added 3 more nights spur of the moment)

11 days 10 nights at WL woods view - approx $1550

FITS passes for 3 adults (even thought she is still a kid to me) & 1 child - $1150.00

Airfare (including charge to change for a later flight) from NY to MCO - $625

Limo from house to airport - $350.00

Limo from MCO to WL - $120

MNSSHP for 4 people - $140.00

Approx food - $1800.00 - we eat where ever we want

Souvies & Disney pics - $700

Grand total around $6,500.00 or so. I am trying to be more frugal for our nextr trip and will not be "adding days". I am going into planning for our next trip starting off at 10 days and keeping it there :crazy:

As the previous posters have mentioned, it is all about personal choices!!

We usually take smaller vacations so that we can take more. We have never had a WDW vacation more than 5 days, and usually we stay at the moderates. We can get great deals on airfare lately, (which before 1985 was a much bigger chunk of the budget) and we usally eat only once a day at a sitdown type of meal. We usually don't buy more than $100 of souvineers, and cut costs lots of little ways. Not because we have to, but because we want to spend thrifty so that we can come back sooner, or take another trip. It is ALL about our choices. We usually spend about 3,000. all said and done.

We both work, and for years we were DINKS (double income, no kids!). We live in the burbs and have good jobs. (no, they aren't hiring, talk about a bad economy...)We drive economy cars and budget carefully. I am not a stay home mom, so is it selfish of me to want more vacations, and to be able to do more? Maybe. Again, it is ALL about personal choices! :grouphug:

Driving Experience for DH $325.00
Airfare/Travel Expenses $1,000.00
Food/Spending $ $2,000.00

  • Ultimate Park Hoppers

We bought AP's last year. There is five of us DH, me, DD17, DD16, &Ds13. We stayed at Cypress Pointe grand Villas, drove our van from Ohio. Take food down with us (a little each week from the groceries we usually buy) Take gatorade in to parks along with crackers/candy. Anyway... average for 4 trips of 7 days there, including hotel up and back one night, gas a nd all. Grand total $7,316 average per trip $1,829 dollars, that even includes tolls on the way down. (It actually costed less because the last trip we got Sky auction and haven't refigures it from $800 for the week. (That also includes any eatting or buying we do. I am amazed at others totals but just wanted to show the other side for those who are panicked by the high prices!

OK, I'll bite. We are DVC menbers the last 10 years, and I have prorated my purchase price accordingly. According to my "Quicken" records, we spent thus:

Last February, Presidents Week. Drove down. DVC, five nights.

Van rental & transp : approx $500
Lodging & restaurants en route $200
Gas: $200
Park Admission: $1350
Groceries: $400
DVC Maint: $700
DVC Purchase Payoff (10 yrs) $1000
Total(approx): $4500

Per day(approx) $890

We're going for our first ever trip in Dec 2005. Staying for 8 days at the CR on the old "gold" plan (so nearly everything is included). For the 4 of us, 2 adults, 2 older teens, our package plus the airfare will be $8000. This is our first vacation (longer than a few days somewhere) since 2001. We own a small business and it has been difficult to get away. So this is a BIG splurge!
If we are able to get away more often I will hopefully spend much less.

This is our first trip to disney and I know we lucked out. I know it is no where what I have seen on here but it is for us. We got a pin and are spending $1680 for 6 nights at POR, park hopper and the dining plan. We are a family of three with an 8yr old daughter.
