What's the most common first name(s) in your Family Tree?

My Mother gave all of us siblings her geneology from her maternal side (dating back to the Mayflower!!) and the most common name in our family (so far) is Daniel and Robert.

What's kind of cool is my youngest son is Daniel Robert!!

The most common female name recently would be Elizabeth. (I'm the 4th even tho everyone has always called me Kitty )

Hmmm... none that are super common, but there are a couple Donalds, Josephs, Richards scattered around.

I'm happy to say I THINK I'm the only Patricia.

On my Dad's side there are quite a few Risdens and Samuels. Risden is definately a family name.
Elisabeth(or variations of it) is the common female name on my mother' s side but not necessarily as a first name.

Don't know about first names, but a LOT of guys in my family tree have the middle name DWIGHT. In fact, we named our son James Dwight. My dad is Carlton Dwight. My brother is David Dwight. My middle name is Mark. Go figure. There are Dwight's peppered all over what little of my family tree that I have been able to determine.

My daughter, wife, and mother-in-law all share the middle name ELLEN. We thought that would be a nice way for them to be connected.

Thomas. Both of my grandfathers were named Thomas, although they both went by their middle names. I have an uncle named Thomas and a first cousin on each side. My youngest child's middle name is Thomas.

Elia would be the common name on my Dad's side. There are also a couple of Brians.

James..but they all go by different nicknames..Jay, Jamie, Jim, James etc. My DS' middle name is James too!

Russell on my father's side goes all the way back ot the Dark Ages...probably! Tradition is that the first male is named after the two grandfathers, and soon everyone was Russell Something.

Hm....well, on my dad's side......probably Maris, since it's my brother's middle name and my grandfather's first name. I have a feeling dad's family names won't last long, since he was Latvian...His name was Ilmars (and his brother's names are Miervaldis and Laimonis)! On my mom's side, probably Kay and Andrew.

One of my son's has a legacy name, from his Dad's side of the family.....Captain John _________ settled the town we live in, and since that time there has been a John __________ every other generation, and my son is one of 'em. Kinda neat when they learn town history in school! (and the town library also bears his name! LOL)

DH's family- Criscenzo (his ggfather, father, and nephew) and the Saints names- james, joseph, john...

mine- james, thats it, not really any girls names in either side.

my generation, has started with LONG names for kids...DD's have 27 and 26 letters in their name, and my nephew has 28..LOL

Nothing like DH whose first and middle name are each 4 letters LOL

I think John is the most common. My DS and DH are John, so was my ex-h. My cousin is John and so is his father. I had a great uncle and a great grandfather named John. FIL is also John.

I have many female relatives named Mary, Catherine and Elizabeth.
