What's the Lime Green all about?

As a newbie to the forum, can I just ask what the lime green is all about? I don't get it but someone had shown a lime green ribbon for their trip to DLP. Can someone explain it to me?

To save you trouble of a forum search, and because I am up at 3:30 A.M. because my first trip to WDW is mearly a month and a week away, I will take a stab at answering

Home Depot (and only Home Depot it seems) sells series of home decorating paints licensed by Disney. The displays for these paints have sample paint chips in the shape of Mickey Heads. The members of the DIS boards here have adopted the practice of "liberating" the Alien Green color paint samples and using them to identify each other on visits to WDW by placing them on backpacks or hotel room doors.

So there you go. If you don't have a Home depot in your town/city/metropolis/berg/village/shire and want some, PM me and I'll see if the noe near my house has restocked (nobody saw anything, I have well paid witnesses )

You know that point after about 20 hours without sleep, when everything seems funny? With that in mind, i'll bet I owe anyone reading this an apology.

Hey there Louise Good to see that you are planning your holiday and using info you will find on these boards.

I have been reading (and then actually using) the tips on DIS for over 10 years now. Quick answer to the LIME GREEN. It was long ago established as the "official" colour of DIS. We can use it to identify each other while in the House of the Mouse.

Since you come from across the pond (as my Mom says) a visit to Home Depot is out of the question for you. It is a building centre / hardware store on hormones! SO ... here is what we did before these paint chips became available: use green ribbons, hair ponies, luggage tags, etc... put them on bags, kids backs (what I did when littlest was 2 so she would not rip it off)

Yes that would work, remember to put your DIS screen name on them as well
