What's the latest?

I'm reading all sorts of mixed posts the last 2 weeks. Long lines vs. we walked right on. What's the deal? I know last weekend was technically a holiday due to President's Day. But can we expect long lines moving forward? Have they extended park hours?

Heading down in May and now I am not so sure anymore.

From what I have been seeing it's a combo of President's Day and Mardi Gras landing the same week. Also people saying it felt like more than 35% capacity, but based on apps/sites like touringplans.com, the crowds start to lower again. I'm going in March and watching it closely too! Good Luck!

I was there February 2-6 and I hadn't seen crowds that low in YEARS, including the first week of December, historically a low crowds time. FWIW, I go 3-4x/year and I have for 15 years. Obviously I was out of there well before President's weekend.

Like everyone else, no idea what will happen from now on.....

From now through the end of April there is a school district on vacation. A lot of trips from last spring were postponed to this spring. With vaccines being rolled out there are people who are comfortable traveling again. Even at 35% capacity that's a lot of people and right now without the shows, parades, fireworks, dining, etc. to help disburse the crowds everyone is either waiting in line or walking around, which can make it feel congested.

It seems that the people that have the shortest wait times are the ones that get there before park opening. Most have reported that they're able to get a lot done in the first few hours, go back to their resort when the lines get long, and then back to the parks for the last 2-3 hours of the day.
