WE are from Canada and when we were down in some parts of the US and order ined tea we got cold tea
We are used to a sweet lemon flavoured tea
I was telling this to a friend of ours from down south somewhere and she said that what we are used to is closer to what is called sweet tea?
so what does disney have?
thanks

I heard that there may be a few places around WDW that serve sweet tea - which is a tea mixed with a concentrated simple syrup making an ultra sweet concoction.

But, my experience is that most of the iced tea around WDW is an unsweetened cold tea

Most of the tea at Disney is unsweetened. I know LTT at MK has sweet tea but not sure if anyone elswe has it.

thats really good to know
It saves me from getting something we were not expecting lol

I love sweet Tea, you see it more of a Southern USA drink. I mean the rest of the USA makes sweet tea but its not a MUST drink like it is down south. Now that I am on WW I put splenda in my tea, not as good but still good.

Sounds like you need to order "Arnold Palmer" when you are WDW. Since the tea is unsweet, they mix a bit of lemonade with the tea and you have an "Arnold Palmer". My husband loves it. Much better than trying to add sweetener to your tea.

McDonalds is serving sweet tea now. :scared1: ick... sweet tea is something I just never got used to drinking. Anyway, hope you have good luck finding it at the World.

By the way, we've never run into a server who didn't know what an Arnold Palmer was. We learned the name from a castmember several years ago.

Tea without sugar is scary!!! Id think that Disney being in the South would have more sweet tea! And not just barely sweet, but Southern style, sweet as dessert sweet tea!!!

It's not Disney, it's the State of Florida. It's the most northern state in the south :upsidedow No matter where I've been in Florida, north, south, Atlantic coast, or Gulf coast they don't serve sweet tea, with the exception of Cracker Barrel :goodvibes

Then you've never been to Northwest Florida - we are more "southern" than the rest of Florida and every restaurant I can think of serves sweet tea, in abundance! :drinking1

The joke around here is that in Florida, the further South you go, the further North you get. :rotfl:

Tea is tea. I drink it sweet and un-sweet (Yes I am a southerner...born and raise in Savannah).

Garden Grill and Trails End both have sweet tea. Everything else is unsweet, but, tastes ok by me. They all offer packs of your favorite sweetener.

Problem is, unless you use a quick dissolving type of sweetener (splenda), you get a semi-sweet drink with a pile of crystals at the bottom.

Best way to make sweet tea.

Brew up one gallon of tea. I prefer Tetley myself when I can get it, but, your favorite brand will work. Just follow there instructions.

While it is brewing, put one cup of sugar, or your favorite sweetener in a gallon pitcher. Add more if you like it even sweeter.

When the tea is brewed, (now THIS is the important bit) pour the tea ON TOP of the sweetener, while HOT. This will melt and dissolve all of the sweetener.

Put the pitcher in the fridge and let it cool down as much as possible before drinking.

In my humble O, tea is best served cold, but, with NO ice, as it dilutes the flavor.

Another nice change is to get an extra bit of flavored tea and add it to the brewing process. I prefer Constant Comment myself.

Hmmmm, reminds me to make a pot when I get home.

That ain't no joke...that's the TRUTH!

Whoa! I thought it was all that Nestea junk at Disney. Do they have proper ice tea?!?!?!?!

Rainforest Cafe in WDW (both locations) is the only restaurant I have come across that serves sweet ice tea. It's really good, if I do say so. And if the add sugar packets to your tea doesn't appeal to you, there's always McDonald's! ;) The one outside the gate by Downtown Disney usually has had really good sweet ice tea most times we've been by there.

I live In FL and can get sweet tea anywhere I go. Never had a problem getting it in Orlando either.

OP....our neighbors are from Canada and there is a difference between sweet tea and what you are looking for. The closest they have found is Nestea. You can get it in the powdered form from the grocers too or premade in 12 ounce cans or 20 ounce bottles.

Being from Canada and now living in the US there is a difference between the teas. My wife loves unsweatened tea. You can't get that in Canada at most restaurants. My wife hates the tea in Canada, usually made from a powder, whereas the tea made in the midwest is actually brewed and then chilled. She always sweetens her tea with sweet'n'low. I drink neither kind.

I like it brewed and chilled with Splenda. Your wife and I would get along pretty well.

That's why I am asking about what kind of tea they serve at Disney. I thought it was all Nestea, which I don't like (tastes like the stuff from the powder), but I like brewed ice tea.

I am hoping someone can help me out. :goodvibes
