This morning we have PS's for the Rainforest Cafe at AK at 9:30AM, that should give us plenty of time to get up and get ready and get over there. I have no clue as to how to time bus transportation, I figure give us about half an hour. About 9 we are down at the bus stop, waiting and waiting. Finally after what seemed forever, the AK bus came. Yippee! We are on our way, it is 9:15am, aren't we suppose to check in about this time? Oh well, we'll get there. We arrive and it's 9:35am,no one is at the front.
Where is the hostess? Missy decides to lead us in to the main part of the restaurant as others are lining up at the front. There we meet up with the hostess who politely takes us back to the beginning and we wait, everyone but me is patient. I explain to her about how I did not know how long it would take us to get to the Rainforest Cafe from OKW, she understands and we are seated promptly. I need to learn to relax
Sorry I don't remember again what we ate, but it was good. Grandma "Mouse" "DisneySis", Missy, Melly and I really enjoyed it, but you know eating takes time. So after taking our bathroom breaks we head out and DisneySis and Melly get way ahead of the rest of us and go through the gate, while Grandma "Mouse" can't seem to find her sunglasses. Now where could they be? Not in her purse, so Missy goes back in and checks inside, DisneySis and Melly come back to see what is the matter. They too decide to check inside and maybe she accidently left them in the bathroom? No luck. You know we are waisting time
But Grandma Mouse does need her sunglasses. After about 15-20 minutes they are found, no other place than her purse crammed down deep inside! Hey we only took about an hour to eat and another half an hour searching for sunglasses! Now we are off, first stop It's Tough to Be a Bug. Everyone seemed to like that one. Then the rain starts, not a lot, just a drizzle at first and Grandma Mouse is getting tired. So I decide to wait with her and check on the viewing we have for our preferred viewing of Mickey's Jammin Parade, the others decide to go on more rides, The Kahli Rapids and the Dinosaur one. Yes yours truly misses out, but its good I got to go on these things last year. I really want to try the Saffarri, but will try to do that one later in the stay. Kahli Rapids turns out to be one of Melly's favorites.
Grandma Mouse and I sit and wait, I even do a survey. The heat and the rain are starting to get to me, so when the others return we vote to go back to the resort and come back later to see the parade. The only thing is once I get back to the resort neither Grandma Mouse nor I feel much like going out again. So DisneySis, Missy and Melly head on back to AK and we agree to meet up with them at the AKL at Jiko's for dinner at 7:30pm. My sister and I stayed there last summer and it is a beautiful lodge. Grandma Mouse and I beat them over there and go and view the girraffs from one of the savannahs. She really enjoyed that. After walking around there for a bit, we sat and Grandma Mouse dozed off, I doubt anyone minded she does that. Falls asleep very easily. She had a nice little nap and by the time the rest of the group showed up she was ready to eat. My 26 year old niece loved Jiko's my sister proceded to choke on a pepper, but all turned out fine we did not have to do the Heineikin(sp?) Removal on her, but that is what she most remembers about the place. I guess I am not a real food critique since I can't really remember what we ate at most of the places we went to. Only that we usually ended up taking some of it back with us.
Now we await the arrival of my dear brother and his wife who are not suppose to be getting into Orlando until after 11PM. This is going to be a long night, especially since they will be arriving by Mears bus. 12:30AM they are here! Who would think at that hour Mears would be busy? My DB thought the van sounded like the transmission was about ready to go out on it. But they made it and we were happy that they finally got there, but we have 8:30AM PS's for Kona's. Will be able to get up and make it there on time?
