Whats the first thing you do?

Well, we usually get there around lunch time after spending all morning in the car. So, our first stop is normally the red cart for some corn dogs. lol (this trip we'll head right for Carnation Cafe instead) If we haven't decided already, we'll decide who gets to pick the first ride that day and then we go on whichever one they pick.

We head to Pirates first(grabbing Indy fast passes on the way). Our daughter uses a wheelchair and that line can be 1-2 hours long later in the day, even when the regular line takes 15 minutes!

First thing we do is head up the stairs to the train, look back on Man Street for a minute or two, then do a loop around the park, walk down Main Street and go right on IJA.

Theres something different about the air coming from the inside isn't there? Its like the magic starts filling your lungs.

Yes there is. There is a slight chill in the air, you hear the music, people talking and laughing, you hear the train whistle, you hear that one kid already crying, and the air is different for some reason. I love it.

If we take the tunnel on the left we usually head to adventure land and do the Jungle Cruise then Indiana Jones and then Pirates and Haunted Mansion, If we take the tunnel on the right then we usually end up in Fantasyland and do Peter Pan, Mr Toad, Pinocchio and Snow White!

When you get the DL, whats the first thing you do? Any special tradition your family does or a favorite ride you can't wait to go on? For me, the first thing I do is ride the Disneyland Limited all the way around the park once and then get off and New Orleans Square. From there I ride the POTC and Haunted Mansion (2 of my favorite rides) and go from there. What do(es) you/your family do?

I get teary eyed every single time. I take in a big sigh and go in through the right. :cloud9: We really take our time the first time on Main St.

Our family tradition is to hold hands and walk under the tunnel together. We get dirty looks all the time but whatever, it's our family deal. :) Actually the way we normally do it is to walk up to the tunnel, stop and read the plaque together, then the girls stand on either side of me and we hold hands, DBF stands behind me with his hand(s) on my shoulder(s) and we walk thru. When we get thru we stop again and look at the hub on that end and just soak in the happy thoughts. :)

I usually get some beignets at the Jazz Kitchen Express at DTD. They are sooo good.

In the park, its been usually to go see Tiana and Naveen but now its straight to the Princess Faire :)

Family tradition dictates we ride the train to New Orleans Square to first Pirates first, the family favourite. We haven't been to DL since they introduced FP (it's been that long!) so we'll have to adjust our strategy a bit for our next trip.

I've been hearing a lot of Peter Pan. Never have been on it, how is it? I assume its pretty fun judging from how many people ride it in the beginning.

PP is pretty cool, you're in a pirate ship flying in the sky. There is no FP and the wait gets really long, that's why so many people ride it first thing. We generally ride it last, get in line right before closing to ride it, we like it at night rather then in the morning. no clue why but we do. :)

We always do POTC, followed by HM. It's almost a die-hard tradition. We feel all out of sorts when we go into the park the first day and POTC is down or in refurb. We're sort of like "Ughhhhhhhhh what do we do now?!?!" :lmao:

Sweet! It works now. I love reading your reports, its my way of getting my Disney "fix" while we're away.

Glad you found it! Thanks for reading along. We have made a habit of going to Peter Pan after our Tomorrowland rides on Magic Mornings. It's worth a spin if the line isn't too long.

Dumbo and all of Fantasyland of course... then New Orleans and Adventureland and all that and we save Tomorrowland for the evening.

We have been going every year for over 15 years... plus I went quite a bit as a kid...

But the main thing I have learned is that whatever your plan is, be prepared to change it. Once or twice we spent tons of time with characters just inside the gate... other times we went straight to Meet Mickey. I think being prepared to change your plan and being flexible can make or breat your visit.

I'll have to check it out, it sounds like a lot of fun!
