hi guys,
times ticking away now, what do you all think the first park we shoulkd visit should be?

Our first full day is a Sunday (we fly on a saturday) we are four adults 3 who have been before. I am tempted to do AK or epcot.

We have both a ten day world ticket and 14 day flexi ticket.

thanks all

We are off soon and our first full day is a Monday - we have decided to go to Seaworld for several reasons:

1. It isn't a huge park and will break us in gently
2. we can sit to watch the shows and take it relatively easy.
3. Its not too far away form everything so if a couple of us want to go shopping, we can leave and come back
4. Monday is a 'quiet' day at Seaworld

its on the flexi-ticket (unlimited accesss for 14 days) so if we get too tired and leave early, we wont feel like we have wasted a day ticket wise.

PS - we havent decided any days beyond the first one though!

We tend to go SW/US first day. As mentioned before it's part of your 14 day pass so if you've had enough you can leave without feeling too guilty. I find that SW is a nice calm option for a first day, but last year we ended up at universal because I was just so desperate to go on some rides!!!

Have fun whatever you decide!!

For us it simply HAS to be MK. We don't feel we've arrived at WDW until we walk down Main Street and see the castle. It also has to be the last park we do.

I'm absolutely with Gill on this one. I'm not at Disney until I've walked up Main Street - it also has to be my last park.

However if you've all been before (plus you are all adults!) I would go for one of the "less tiring" parks eg AK. I probably wouldn't do Epcot as it's a really full day when you go there (plus will you have enough energy with jetlag to stay for Illuminations?)

However having said that you have a 10 day pass so if you've had enough by the afternoon you can always come back another day :)

Hi

We always start with MK, but it is much busier in the weekend as people have the same idea to start thier holiday with the best park and then end it with the best park. If you dont want too many people then try another park i.e Seaworld or MGM I find these are the parks that are less busy and Fantasmic at MGM is amazing. AK is always busy when we go I have never personally found a day where is isnt. I think it is mainly due to the fact it closeses earlier than other parks, then people tend to park hop like we did to MGM just to watch Fantasmic again.

Good luck and have a great time.

Michelle

We have always gone to SeaWorld on the first day - it breaks you in gently and you can relax with a beer or two too after the long flight! But.........I think alot depends on where you are staying and if you are staying at an on-site hotel! Last time we stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel (Universal) and next year at Royal Pacific Resort (Universal) and our first park will be Islands of Adventure as that is the places the kids will want to go to the most!!:D

My tradition has always been the first day has to be the Magic Kingdom. It's the best park and the one that started it all.

Our past two trips we have gone straight to MK as soon as we arrived (after getting into our room and getting changed) - both times we had arranged to meet some American DISers there. We ended up staying in MK until closing (which was like 3am UK time!!).

Our next trip, as we are staying at the Dolphin, our first park will be Epcot :)

i would also go to sea world as its not a huge park and its not a verry stressfull day you just feel comfortable and relaxed so it makes you look forward to the rest of your holiday:thewave:

Hi

We always go to Seaworld, it stems back to our first ever Florida trip the weather was terrible, rained for a full 12 days, tropical storm, and the rep told us to go to SW she said you can't get any wetter so thats it for us.

Gosh, Im so sad. We never do a park on our first day! We ALWAYS go to the Wal-Mart!! Well, its an attraction on its own really isnt it?:teeth: ?

Since the littlies have come along then our first park is always MK (but on our 2nd day....IYSWIM!!). Not sure how much longer the kidlets will let me get away with my "Wal-Mart" day!!! Better make the most of it before they realise that Disney World ISNT always "closed" on our first day ;) .

If you want an easy park then I would pick MGM. Its more "Disney" than AK, but small enough not to tire you out. Plenty of big rides to get you in the mood, and shows to sit down in, if you are tired. Would leave Fantasmic for another night though.

We had a PS for Boma on our first night last year (yes, our REAL first night, Wal-Mart had been done and dusted by 4pm ;) ). I wouldnt recommend a first night PS if you have small children...ours were mega grumpy (it was only 5.30pm)and the whole thing was a waste of money. Kids were nodding off into their Zebra Domes....the sacrilege!! Wont make that mistake again.
