DH got a phone call at 6:45am this morning! We thought it was an emergency...but it was just a regular, run-of-the-mill call about a project my DH's been working on.

We were both still asleep and DH is kinda peeved. So what's the earliest you call for non-emergency phone calls?

If I know the person well (ie know they will be up already etc) 8am, otherwise 9am

DH gets calls from Contractors, who get on job sites at 6:30 am

So 6:45 happens sometimes-and he puts his cell "ON" at that time. What aggrivates me are those that HAVE to call between 12 noon and 12:30-which is when MOST people are eating lunch-right?

Probably around 8am if I thought the person would be up by then (someone I knew). If I didn't know them (say a craigslist posting) after 10 am.

I'd be P'd too if someone called that early for nonsense.

Depends.

On a weekday? 9 am, unless I know the person well and that they'd be up and getting kids ready for school, getting ready for work, etc. (although I'd only call then if it was a really quick question!)

On a weekend? Usually 10 am if they have kids 12 or younger. 11 am otherwise.

Well, it depends- my mom 6am because I know she is at work by then and she knows I'm up for work at 5:30am so she will call me then too. My BFF- 7am because she is up then. Anyone else 8am. On the weekends I won't call before 9am, and I don't like it for someone to call me before then either.

9 a.m.!
My DD has a friend where the mother will NOT answer the phone until 12 noon. She feels anything before that is too early. :confused3

It depends. During the week I've gotten phone calls around 7am if one of my kids friends has a question about school. On the weekends I would hope no one would call before 9 (even though I'm up the kids are not). My neighbor called me at 7 the other day to tell me about a cardinal that keeps pecking at my window. I thought maybe it was an emer. when I saw her # come up - normally she doesn't call me early. Glad it was only about a bird :)

It depends on how well I know the person. My Mom, I will call anytime after 8:00 a.m. Someone I don't know? I wait until after 9:00. And I won't call anyone after 9:00 p.m. in the evening.

DH's brother-in-law will sometimes call us before 7:00 and I hate that!! We are usually up by 6:00 or 6:30, but occasionally do sleep in until 7:00 - 7:30, and I hate being awakened by the stupid phone ringing.

8ish....if it's family.

If it's a call for another reason, I would probably say 9.

Depends on who it is. If it's my mom, I'll call her anytime after 7 since I know she's up. If she calls me, she knows anytime after 5:00 am is fine. :lmao:

On the weekends, I don't call my sister until after 10:00 because I know she sleeps in.

At work, I often have to call people at 7:30 am if I need a sub for an 8:00 class. I try to wait until after 9:00 if it's at all possible.

On a weekday no earlier than 9am and even that depends on the person.
Weekends-10am.

My hubby is usually at work at 7:30, on Mondays at 7. He's had people call on his cell as early as 6, usually to let him know that something has come up and they won't be in to work. They usually call the cell, thinking it is off or on vibrate and won't wake the house. He is also the first person called if the alarm is going off at work, they try the cell first and if no answer, the house phone.

Family & friends usually wait until 8 or so--depending on if it's a school day or not. My neighbor knows we're up early, she's called before for help with the dog. (Her dog likes to jump the fence, she loves my dog. If I let him out, she comes running and neighbor just snags her when she goes into our backyard.)

It depends - I don't make calls to people who are not a part of my daily life prior to 9:00AM on the weekdays and 10 on weekends. However, I expect calls from the people I work with as early as 6:30 - 7:00AM - we all have to be at work by 8:00 so it is pretty much assured that everyone will be awake by that time.

She must live in Key West. :lmao::thumbsup2
I wish! Unfortunately she is just a lazy woman that wants to sleep late and doesn't understand how anyone starts their day prior to 11 and refuses to speak to anyone prior to noon. And her kids are 9 and 11. She's trained them to sleep as late as possible so she keeps them up until 10 or 11 at night. No wonder they start falling asleep in school after lunch. :sad2:

I do not call anyone before 9am unless they are expecting me to call earlier.

If someone has a specific reason to call me before 9am, it doesn't bother me. Just don't call to chit chat before 9am....I'll growl at you.

Exactly.

I am an early bird as are most of my friends. I wouldn't call someone before 9:00 to shoot the breeze. I might call if a I had a specific question or a need about something--not necessarily an emergency.
