at 8:30 pm,on a Saturday night,on roads I don't know, driving for almost 30 miles on strange roads, looking for road signs, and just a Orlando Road map for comfort??Am I gonna wish I just got a transfer? Please someone tell me it's an easy drive and I won't have any problems getting where I'm going.........Any words of encouragement would help...I'm kinda nervous about the whole rental car thing.
Thanks,Debbie

You will be fine, the roads are well marked. Ask at the car rental desk if they can help you. It is a VERY easy drive.

Gail,Thanks for your quick reply! I am soooooo glad to hear it's gonna be a easy drive. You can probably tell I don't like driving on roads I've never been on,especially in the dark! That makes it seem more intimidating!! You helped me to feel much better about the whole thing! Thanks,Debbie

One thing to remember is that the roads around Orlando and the main drags where the hotels are located are in general very well lit. I am used to dark roads here in NH, but in FL I feel like I am driving in broad daylight even in the middle of the night. Also, even though it's supposedly 30 miles, it is a quick trip bc you're on major roads. If you have not already done so, get the specific directions from the hotel's website so that you can review them a few times alongside a map before you get into a car.

Not sure if you're traveling with children, but my DD9 and I make a game of this on the plane, I ask her to help me with the directions and to be my navigator. She plots the route on the map with a highlighter so I get a co-pilot (my DH is not always with us when we travel) and she has learned how to read a map, which I consider to be a very valuable skill. She also has a better memory than I do LOL so by the time we get to our destination, most of the time, she has the directions memorized. So nice to be 9 instead of 40-something....
