What's the Deal with November?

I am paying too much to stay at the HRH ($249 night) for the 2nd week in November 05. They tell me there are no good discounts availabe because they are almost sold out. So, is this considered the "busy" season?

Then I look at the park hours online and see that both parks will be closing at 6pm every one of the 5 nights we will be there. That's crazy. I mean, everyone there is on vacation, why do they close up so early? Last time we went the parks were both open till 11pm and I had to drag the family out with promises of an early morning return. I don't think opening till 6pm is enough hours for all the $$ we're paying.

Last, it also ticks me off that they close the pools so early. What do they expect all these families with little kids, who are ON VACATION, to do all night? Last time we were there (RPR) so many guests complained about the pool closing too early, they changed the closing time mid-week.

Just my 2cents.

P.S.
Here is the deal at Disney (even though I prefer Universal, if they don't change some of their way$, it's back to WDW for us :sad2: ) :
<< Each day one of the Disney Theme Parks opens an hour early or stays open up to three hours after regular park closing, so Disney Resort Guests* can enjoy easy access to select attractions — even the most popular ones! With Extra Magic Hours, you can make the most of your vacation time and see and do everything at an easy, relaxed pace. >>

Are the discounts out for Nov yet sometimes they release them pretty late

The reservationist didn't say the discounts were not out yet. She just said they are almost sold out of regular rooms, so the discounts were slim.

Is anyone else traveling to Universal in November? Would love to hear what you got!

I think u may find that people are booking then hoping for discount rate but ecause they are booking then cancelling discounts are coming up pretty close to date people are travelling for example we had a prob on our visit in january was our travel agent who messed up but according to hotel they where fully booked and couldn't accomadate us for our full trip then day before we had to leave we gor front desk manager telling us we could stay and in same room so really i think they need to look at their booking system as it must be costing them business on people who actually want to stay in the room as opposed to others who are hoping that the rate will lower so they can stay as I think these people are actually pushing the prices up as they think they are sold out
