whats the consensus

My first trip, we stayed onsite one night. We only used our Express Pass one day, as traffice caused us to be really late on our arrival day. We then returned later and did a day without a Express Pass later in the week. With Express pass, it was awesome! No waits and we were through quickly. We even did HP early entry and we weren't tired. The day without Express Pass was not as fun. I feel like we mainly waited in lines, which is exhausting. Of course, we went in the crowded summer. I wouldn't do Universal again without Express Pass unless I knew it was a less crowded time of year. I vote for Express Pass!

We only stay onsite one of the deluxe resorts that have it as a perk..We love express pass, even in lower crowds and love the resorts so we would never stay offsite

I have had two offsite stays and DID NOT buy Express Passes. (Busy times of year too -August and Spring Break).
I have stayed onsite once.

That's how I feel! Even if it shaves off a minute for each ride, that adds up by the end of the day. Plus, we love the resorts. :)

i get it as a perk when i stay onsite.

for the hard ticket event hhn, yes i do buy the express pass.

The only time I've ever used Express is during HHN but I used to go so often that I didn't really need it. Back when there were Express kiosks around the parks, I would grab one here and there but never paid for it during the day.

I'd watch a Universal crowd calendar for your dates. If it looks like it's going to be crowded, buy it. If it doesn't look too bad, skip it.

We didn't buy Express Passes in early March, but got to the parks each day at opening. It was no problem to ride everything we wanted to - some more than once! Lines weren't bad - I was glad we saved the money. If it was very crowded or I was on limited time, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
