I would really love to stay on Disney propery but the prices are just crazy for a 2 bedroom villa which is what I would need.

I am interested to know what the best price people have booked for is? We are staying for 14 nights.

Also, are there any discount codes to bring the cost of Disney accommodation down?

Thanks!:thumbsup2

As you are looking at the DVC resorts then it may work out cheaper to rent points from a DVC member than to pay cash.

Have a look on the DVC rent/trade board - points usually rent at around the $10 per point mark but you may be able to get them cheaper depending how many you need. DVC members will also be able to advise you on how many points you need for the reservation.

when are you planning to go?
what rates are you looking at?
the rates on the US site are rack rates and very high...
sometimes you can get a code for the US site with a 35% discount for the DVC properties..

if you plan on going during the free dining period, you can sometimes get a highly discounted rate on the UK disney site for Old Key West and Saratoga Springs...

for 2 weeks in august, i have a rate for a 2 BR at SSR and OKW for £3,100 including free dining. but you also have to buy tickets, so the total price is higher after you add on tickets...

For a 2 bedroom you are looking at the DVC villas. There has been offers for the last 2 years on OKW and SSR booking for certain times you could a 42% discount and free dining.

Other than that there are no discounts through Disney UK.

There are often room only and other discounts through Disney US however you will need to pay in dollars. Room only you can get up to 40% off at certain times.

The biggest issue is the bulk of the DVC units are owned by members and only put out for cash bookings to cover the cost of member trades so the inventory availability is limited.

Your last option is to look at renting points from a DVC member.

Hi,

We are going in October this year. I looked at the prices for OKW and it was over £5000:eek:
:goodvibes

Thing is I don't know how many points I would need to buy for a 14 night stay?

October 18th - November 1st 2011.

2 people.

We are flexible on resorts.

Thanks:thumbsup2

Couldn't you book a 1 bedroom villa if there are two of you? It would save you a lot of money!

What about two rooms at a normal resort? You can request connecting rooms and it will be cheaper!

The one bedrooms at BLT and AKV have 2 bathrooms.

TBH a 2 bedroom villa is going o be expensive with only 2 of you.

Have a look at Complete Orlando - they are offering 2 bed Saratoga Spa in a 2 bed for £3360 including free disney dining plan - or 1 bed villa for £2310. How much have you been quoted?
Or perhaps you can bring the price down by choosing another onsite hotel which typically has 2 double beds in one room instead of separate rooms.

Oh yes I remember looking now.:goodvibes
Disney are quoting £4,104.00 including 2 x 14 day passes less 3% Quidco = £3,981, this gives free Dining. Where did you get over £5k? seems a bit OTT unless you are including flights at that price.

To rent DVC points you would require 464 points for those dates, at $10 a point that would be $4,640 = £2,918 with tickets and dining ontop you wouldn't save a great deal renting points at this rate compared to the Free DDP deal on Disney.co.uk

The 2 bed villas at OKW/SSR are a great deal if used as they are intended, upto 8 people, used for only 2 people they are very expensive.

you can get 2 rooms in a value resort from about £1,500 + tix but no free DDP, personally not my cup of tea, I don't like the value resorts but others do, I would prefer to stay offsite and get something better for my £1,500.

Good luck choosing

Just looked at OP dates on LM.com for a 2 bed OKW villa £6,521.14 :scared1: Even with 40% off its more than Disney.co.uk with tickets and DDP.:confused3 They would need to discount by around 60% to be worth using.

Always worth looking at other options, sorry if my reply sounded unappreciative, it certainly wasn't meant that way:hug:
