What's the cheapest MYW ticket you've found?

I'm looking to purchase 10-day MYW tickets for my upcoming trip. If I do room-only, I can buy discounted tickets from a 3rd party vendor, and wondering what's the cheapest way to do this? I already know about the link through mousesavers, is that the best deal?

Also, is there any way to purchase discounted APs?

I would hold off on purchasing tickets from an outside vendor if your trip isn't until 2010. If you purchase your tickets now and Disney comes out with a package offer in the future for your travel dates that has to include park tickets, for example the current 7 for 4 offer, then you wouldn't be able to take advantage of the package discount.

If you already have a discount on your room only then it doesn't matter

ITA!! I'm just trying to do the math to see IF the 4/3 WERE extended , then I would save a little more on my room, but I might have to pay MORE for my park passes, depending on the price I could get, which might negate the room savings, if that makes sense. I just like to be prepared so I know my best options. Thanks for the advice!

any ticket broker that is offering the park tickets for less than what you can get them for through Disney is NOT offering a huge discount it definitely would not save you more than the free nights offer

For example a 5 day park hopper ticket for age 10 & over is $298.20 with tax included
Through Undercover Tourist the same ticket is $285.95
That is a saving of $12.25
I would think you would be saving more on the free nights offer

If you look at the Historical Code Trends over on Mousesavers:

You'll see that the package deals are far and few between in early August. It might be worth your while to get ONE annual pass if the AP rates turn out to be better than the rates to the general public. Unfortunately, you won't know anything about rates until May-ish.

There is a way to get a discounted AP. Go to Undercover Tourist through the Mousesavers link.

Purchase the pass that has the largest discount that costs LESS than the AP that you want (regular or premium).

When you get to Disney, use it in a turnstyle, then go to guest relations, upgrade it to an Annual Pass. You will get Disney's current retail price as credit for the ticket, so you only pay the difference in Disney's price for that pass, and the price of an annual pass.

Your savings is the discount that UT gives you.

For example, currently at UT a 7-day, no expiration, WP&F ticket for an adult is $450.95.

Disney's price for that same ticket is: $481.95, therefore a $31 dollar savings.

If you use the ticket you purchased in a turnstyle, then upgrade it to a regular annual pass, then Disney will give you $481.95 for it, then you only pay an additional $39.84 for an Annual Pass.

(You can't use the 8-day/NE/WP&F with a $37 dollar savings as Disney's price for that ticket is higher than a regular annual pass)

If you wanted a premium annual pass, then you could purchased one of the most expensive tickets with a $37 dollar savings and upgrad to a Premium AP.

Just a little correction. There are discounted Annual Passes for DVC members. But, the cost of joining DVC kinda outweighs the savings for some people . Luckily for us, we already owned DVC when they gave us the discount.

clkelley's right on the money on how to get the best value out of your UT pass . It's what we're planning to do in December with our 6-day non-expiring park hopper passes we bought right before the price went up. I think we're going to save about $42 per ticket when everything is all said and done ... PLUS the $100 off we get by being DVC members.

A few years ago, our govt. website added a link to a place that sold "discounted" Disney park tickets. It turned out to be $1.50 difference for a seven day ticket and you had to have them mailed to you. Hardly a savings worth having.

So I agree, if there is a good offer for the time you are looking for, that would far outweigh buying the tickets through a third party rather than Disney....
