We currently have AT&T. We have 3 phones on the plan. My daughter is the only one who uses texting, so her's is an extra $20 a month. Because my husband gets a discount where he works, it ends up being about $80 a month. This seems like a lot of money to me. We get a certain amount of minutes and that rolls over to the next month if we don't use it. Our contract is almost up and I'm wondering if we should switch to Verizon or another carrier. My sister has a track phone where she only puts a certain amount of minutes on there, but she texts all the time. What do you all have?:surfweb:

If it's $80 a month that you're paying for 3 phones + the texting for the one phone, that's actually a pretty good deal. I have Verizon, and am on a plan solo right now with unlimited texting and it's about $60 a month. Without the discount I get from my work, it would probably cost about $75.
I'd look on Verizon's website to see how much their family plans are. I like Verizon because I've never had a problem with getting service. I've also seen advertisements for T-Mobile that they are cheaper than AT&T and Verizon, but I don't know how well their service is.
Good luck!

I have Virgin Mobile, but I rarely use the phone. It is good for people like me that don't use it much. I pay $113 yr. As long as I remember to add the $113 for the next year on or before the year is up, then all the minutes that are left I get to keep.

Can I have your bill??

We have 4 lines and unlimited texting with AT&T.
I think the base plan is 59.00$ for 700-800 mins, 9.99 for each additional line, and 30$ for the family plan of unlimited texting. And I've also got 5$ a month for 1mb of data a month on my line only.

Our average bill is 135$. But this month and last has been more because of the fee for upgrading. And we also get 20% off with employer discount. Which usually just takes off the taxes and fees.

We have CellularOne- 4 phones, all with unlimited nationwide calls, unlimited text, unlimited data, unlimited internet and we pay $115 a month. We also have no home phone so we only use our cell phones.

I have Tracfone, which works great for me, I only use it on occasion. Last time I renewed for the year, they let me "supersize" to 2 years for an additional $50. So, I got 2 years service for $150- that's $6.25/month. So far the minutes that come with an annual plan have always been enough, and they rollover. I don't text though. I think each text takes a partial unit away.

DH has Verizon single plan, which is $39.99. 450 minutes, and texting is blocked at his request. I think the lowest family plan is $80 or so. I think the plan you have now seems reasonable, unless you are able to get along on what Tracfone provides.
