I'm just wondering what the chances are that we get something special from Disney on our honeymoon trip in July. I have seen many reports that when people check in to their rooms, there are some special things there because they are there on their honeymoon.I am certainly NOT EXPECTING anything free from Disney, but I thought it would be pretty cool and exciting to get something. It would really be a big deal to us and make our trip all that much better and memorable. Anyway, if you have a story you would like to share, please do so! Thanks!! :thumbsup2

Get the honeymoon buttons when you get to your first park. You'll get congratulations all day. We got a certificate at CP signed by all the Pooh characters. I was wearing my bride ears and we were chosen to be part of the opening ceremony at DHS. I wasn't expecting anything so it was really nice.

If you want something special, you have to advertise it a bit. Make sure your hotel has "Honeymoon" noted on your reservation file. Wear the "Just Married" pins you can get at Guest Services in any park. For even more attentive service and spectle, wear the Mickey Top Hat and Minney Wedding Veil mouse ears. You might get a free dessert at a table service restaurant. You might get seranaded by every cast member within 500 yards. You might get a wink and a nod and nothing else.

To be honest, you're going to have such a good time being the center of attention, you might miss it when you return as a regular guest.

Thanks for your reply! We were definitely going to wear the buttons. We also already have the top hat and the veil, so we will be wearing those too! When they had the free admission on your birthday, we went on my brithday and I wore the pin...all day long, all I heard was "Happy Birthday"!

Thanks for your reply! Like I said to the first quote, we already have the ears! We bought the old style top hat and the veil because we don't really like the new style! Also, everytime I call to the res center for a question, I mention we are coming down on our honeymoon. I noted it on the res I made on the website as well when it asked if we were celebrating anything.

Thanks for the replys! Anyone else? Thanks!

As people have said, just make sure that your hotel knows that it is your honeymoon and also check in to each park and let them know. Outside of that everything is chance.

As you and other posters have mentioned, I wouldn't go expecting anything concrete that you can take home with you. Chances are much higher that you 'get' things that create memories. When we were there on our honeymoon we wore our buttons and got many, MANY 'congrats' from almost every CM we passed. We also 'got' small things like entering the FP line at less popular attractions, front of the log at SM, our own boat on the Mexico ride, special pictures with the characters (Mickey had us kiss while he knelt down in front of us and covered his eyes...it's our favorite pic from the trip), etc.

We weren't expecting anything (after all, we were two of THOUSANDS of guests), so the memories we 'got' from the CMs were extra special.

One thing I would suggest though is to think of doing the photopass CD. It seemed like the photographers spent a little more time w/ us than some of the other families, and most made sure to take plenty of good pictures of the two of us. If we didn't do the CD, we would have had very few or no pictures of the two of us together (that weren't close ups, pointing up our noses...)

Maybe if your lucky, you will get one of those metal buttons. You can use them just like a fastpass, and go to the head of the line.:bride:

When we went on our honeymoon back in 2006, we got everything everyone stated above with the little extras. We also received the following things, upon exiting the Tower of Terrors and the while we were debating if we were going to get the picture (it was hilarious, I was screaming), the lady said I had a phone call. I was confused. When I answered it, it was Mickey Mouse telling me how he heard I just got married and how happy he was and so forth. That night when we got back to our room, there was a bunch of balloons, autographed picture of Beauty and the Beast and flowers. When we went to Chef Mickeys, they brought us out cupcake with a candle and all the characters danced with us and were hanging all over us. Minnie was trying to steal my man:rotfl: They gave us special placemats that said On our Honeymoon that we brought home with us.

They definately will make it very special for you...Just make sure it is known....When you check in, tell them....Proudly announce you are on your honeymoon:love:

Thanks everyone for the replies! We are definitely going to wear the buttons! We also have the photopass CD already pre-ordered, so that will be nice as well! Thanks!

We didn't get anything like that, though the FG at CRT announced to everyone that we were celebrating our honeymoon :)... the CMs interacting with us so much was great!

We had our honeymoon last July. It was noted on our reservation, we wore our buttons and I wore my ears the entire trip.

I was kind of thinking it stunk that it was the "What Will You Celebrate" promotion because now EVERYONE was celebrating something!!

We got a congratulations card signed by our servers at Sci-Fi and Kona. DH got a free cookie at Golden Oak Outpost.

That was it.

BUT, almost every CM we encountered gave us a big "Congratulations!" and we really enjoyed that.

We were not looking for or expecting anything either and we had such a blast, we were not disappointed at all that we didn't get anything "bigger."

If you don't expect anything, then you can be surprised and thrilled with any magic that does happen, right?
We went last Sept. for our 25th anniversary, arriving with no expectations. That was good because when we checked in at POFQ, our buttons were with our packets, the CM wished us a happy anniversary, and then placed us in a 3rd floor corner room with stunning view of... the parking lot. No magic there! (We did a split stay with the Poly and our room was much nicer there.) However, Mousekeeping at POFQ was superb. She arranged our leis from our 'Ohana dinner and gave us towel animals, even though we were clearly childless. She took the extra time to make our stay special and it was much appreciated.
We did get wished a happy anniversary by loads of people, not just CM's. That was fun. We got free cupcakes with almost every meal as long as we wore our buttons. The exception was our dinner at the Kona Cafe, where the hostess noted that it was our actual anniversary when we checked in, but our waiter never acknowledged it. This was OK since we had had enough cupcakes (and several back in the fridge in our room) but it was kind of ironic that our actual anniversary dinner was the ONLY one where we weren't congratulated or offered a little something extra. The best was our waiter on our last morning, at the Crystal Palace with Pooh & Friends. He was clearly exhausted (we had the latest seating) and while polite, was not too friendly until he spotted our buttons. He said, "Wait here!" and came back with two cupcakes with candles and a card signed by Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore. He was so excited when we blew out the candles and that really made my trip.
Have a wonderful honeymoon and start saving up for that anniversary trip!

Not to sounds like a broken record, but ALWAYS wear the buttons, you will be very surprised. DW and I did this on our honeymoon and got lots of "stuff":

confetti heart on the table and a certificate from all the characters at Crystal Palace and later in the week at Liberty Tree

Prime seating right next to the window with champagne at Coral Reef (I swear the sea turtle was in on it, he hung out with us the whole time in the tank!)

We were part of the Indiana Jones Stunt show

"preferred" seating for some shows, and a mention at some...

Our own cars/boats/etc on SOME attractions if they weren't busy or if they were, the front seats!

LOTS of congrats and mentions from cast members....be warned though, some will give you a good-natured ribbing too... I remember Jungle Cruise was a good one for this.

Have fun and congratulations!

We went to Disney on our honeymoon in 2007 (that's when my profile pic was taken) and wore our buttons everyday. They were still doing the 1,000,000 dreams campaign (can't remember the office name) and we though we might have a chance at getting something but we didn't from that. However we did get a free mickey ice cream bar when I got one the CM told me I wouldn't have to share and handed my husband one as well.

We also had ADR's at the Royal Table in the castle and they gave us really pretty champagne glasses....actually looked for them the other day but I think they got lost in the move to Tampa....oh well!

One suggestion. Book everything in your husband's name. All the stuff we got like the cards from Mickey and the Princesses says to the MAIDEN NAME family not to the MARRIED NAME family! So I teased my husband that he should just take my last name so all of our Disney stuff would be correct.

I just got back from my honeymoon in WDW and it was great! We wore the just married buttons the entire time, and I wore the bride Minnie ears, and every single cast member we saw went out of their way to congratulate us. We were upgraded to club level at the Beach Club! We had breakfast at Crystal Palace one morning and went into MK early, and the photopass photographer in front of the castle basically told the people who wanted their picture taken they had to wait, and he made us come over-we weren't even waiting to take a picture-and made us do all these poses in front of the castle! At CP, the Pooh characters gave us a card that said Happy Honeymoon and they all signed it. When we had dinner at Tony's, they decorated the table with confetti and left a little baggie on the table so we could take it home if we wanted (which of course, I did!).

Disney is a great place to honeymoon, it was so much fun! :lovestruc Don't expect anything, because some places won't do anything, but when they do, it's extra nice! :)

Don't know if this qualifies but we were celebrating our 24th Wedding Anniversary and were treated very nicely.

At Kona...we got a dessert with two small pastries that said Congratulations in chocolate.

At Coronado Springs...at check-in we got two balloons that said "Happy Anniversary" with a card for champagne toast at the Laguna Lounge. DH carefully deflated them and I'll keep them as a keepsake.

At Whispering Canyon..we got a cupcake.

At our rooms..we got a congratulatory message from Mickey and Minnie

It was very nice and sweet...;) we appreciated all. Make sure you wear your buttons where they can see them. :)

Yes...we did honeymoon at Disney 24 years ago....

At one of the restaurants, we got our own personalized menus with happy honeymoon on it. As well as other stuff mentioned.

We got asked to be in the AK parade. We had to pass though because we had the Wanyama Safari booked at AKL at the same time. We were waiting in line for the characters at Camp Minnie Mickey.

Other than that we got lots of congrats and a cupcake at Chef Mickeys.

But honestly don't go in expecting anything. We saw a ton of honeymoon couples last week (our 1st anniversary trip) like probably 50+ a day. You don't want to be disappointed.

When celebrating our Honeymoon in 2006, upon returning from the parks one afternoon, we found balloons and a signed picture of Mickey and Minnie wearing wedding attire waiting for us.

Congrats on your "Happily Ever After"!

Everyone, thank you very much for your stories and suggestions. It was great reading them. We will have ZERO expectations going in, because we are the type of people who don't expect anything or anyone to go out of the way for us...after all, we are just two people out of billions. We are going to have a great time regardless! Again, thanks everyone. I really appreciate the input and your time for posting!
