Close to Christmas, we are going to Epcot for CP at 5 pm, then headed to DHS for TSM and Osborne Lights, then have an ADR at Flying Fish at 8:25 pm. We will have a car. Epcot closes at 10:30, and DHS closes at 9. What's the best mode of transportation for this scenario? If we should drive, where's the best place to park?

I would valet park at the Boardwalk. You can walk to Epcot, walk or take the boat to DHS, and then walk or take the boat to dinner.

Ok, call me cheap. I chose not to purchase the TIW card when it went up $25, so I don't want to spend $25 on parking. How much would it cost to take a taxi from the Boardwalk to Jambo House? Because it seems like bus transportation will not be an option.

You can look it up at taxifarefinder.com

If I had to guess, one way will probably be about $25.

If you really, really don't want to spend the cash on a cab, you can transfer at Disney Springs after dinner, but plan on it taking 2 hours.

Ugh. $18.54! Might as well valet park. Parking at DHS would be too far of a walk at around 10:30 at night. I think Epcot's closer but whether or not we could get in before they close at 10:30 would be the question. I don't think I would want to push it. Guess I didn't plan so well.

How much time would it eat up if we parked at DHS and then drove the car over to the Boardwalk? We could park there in the morning and take the boat immediately to Epcot (I know that will take up a lot of time, but I'm not so worried about losing time in the morning since our first plans of the day is an 11:30 ADR at Tutto). Then after the CP, we could take the boat back to DHS, do the Osborne Lights, then drive the car over to the Boardwalk. How long would you allow from the time we leave the OL to arriving at the Boardwalk? How much more time do you think that would take as opposed to taking the boat from DHS to the Boardwalk? If it would be about the same amount of time, this might be an option.

warning .... the traffic from ANYPLACE in WDW towards the Osbor' Light thing at sunset is KILLER

total grid lock

it has taken us over an hour to get from EPCOT

we go with a friend who works there and gives us free admission and frankly after the last three years we've decided to 'pass' this year. TOO CROWDED

Ok, new plan. DHS now closes at 11, instead of 9. Thinking about switching some ADRs around so that we can eat at Shula's on the way over to DHS, arriving there around 8:30 and staying until closing when we MIGHT get to ride TSM with a shorter line. Then getting in our car and heading to AK. I will expect traffic delays upon leaving, for sure! The only problem with this plan is losing TSM FP, but transportation is not a concern anymore.

Uber is much less then taxi, many, many, many of us have used it. I am a driver, but not in that market. The other option, is drive yourself, we have done that, I prefer having wheels nearby, or deal with the transportation system if not valet parking at Boardwalk. I think there is a park yourself at one of the resorts, maybe he Beach one?

i would just tell them you have an ADR at boardwalk, which you do. Self park for free there, and do what you need to do.

The boardwalk is an attraction, and you have dinner there. Just so happens you have a few side trips. Don't let the "police" on this board scare or guilt you into not doing this.

Valet would be your best bet as most of this week the parking lot at DHS has been full to capacity and folks are being told to park at Epcot and catch the bus to DHS. So you may as well valet at Swan or Dolphin which ever one is Shula's is at. Otherwise you are going to waste time trying to get from one place to another. And your only option to get back to your car at Epcot since Epcot will be closed by that time which prevents you from walking to Epcot and walking through the park to reach the Epcot parking lot, will be bus. The wait times for buses this week are over an hour long as other Diser's have posted about

Ok, after reading posts on another forum about how DHS's parking lot is full and people being redirected to Epcot, I think we will just use the buses. We will take the bus to Epcot, boat or walk to Shula's, boat or walk to DHS, bus back to AKV.

I think this is your best plan. Be prepared to walk from Epcot to DHS - apparently everyone wants to ride the boat, and waits have been an hour or more to board the boat in both directions this past week.

Yes. That's what I'm hearing too. I'm trying to figure out how far it is from Epcot to Shulas and then from Shulas to DHS. But I'm having trouble finding this information.

I'm just so glad they extended the DHS hours and that I was able to rearrange my ADRs. I have also been able to move our TSM FP back but still not sure we will make it in time. I'm still looking.

The walk from IG at Epcot to DHS is maybe 20-30 minutes depending on how fast you walk. Shula's, as you know, is on the way. I'd figure 10-15 minutes Epcot to Shula's and another 10-15 from Shula's to DHS.

Looking at a map, I notice there are two ways to go, either past Yacht Club or past the Boardwalk. It looks like both come together right before the bridge to the Swan/Dolphin. Which way would be a quicker walk?

Walking through the boardwalk will be quicker.
