what's the best thing to do at Cast a Way Key

Just being there.. I love the whole experience.. From docking, to getting off to that magical place, the characters... The knowledge of only disney people there... :earsboy: It is so special.. The worst part is that you leave early.. :guilty: I know you have to, I just hate it, cause you know your cruise is quickly coming to an end..... :earseek:

I have to say that we have done a lot of excursions on Castaway Cay, but last year, we went on the Kayak tour in the morning (quite cool) and went parasailing in the afternoon(very wild- this is a must try if you haven't done it before)...

But we were very disaoppointed that we had filled our day with excursions and had no time to just sit and relax on the beach... It was a great day, but not the way we want to spend our time at CC in the future! :fish:

 Banana Boat  And this year I'm getting brave and trying the parasailing :thewave: too!

Our last visit was in July and we planned no excursions but BOY was it hot - I just can't imagine doing things besides sitting in the water. That said we have a double CC trip planned in June 2006 and I would like to plan something. Anyone done some of the great things in June when it is so hot???

new at castaway key is the "funcats",they are a 2 seater motor ride that cost the same as the trikes but you do not have to work hard at it. The boat is covered with drink holders

Why would they cover the boats with drink holders???? Wouldn't a simple plastic or canvas cover be better???

the best part is having the ship docked right there next to the lovely beach no hassle with a taxi to get where you are going or to stress about getting back in time, and having cookies right there, even if it wasn't overall my favorite food of the cruise, for that you didn't even have to take the little stroll back to the ship, and the fresh fruit and salad is a nice option along with the burgers, ribs, lobster burgers, etc. And can you say soft serve chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream cones? Say it again--it gets more and more fun.

Other islands have better snorkeling, sure, and the family beach gets crowded, and I've never had a hammock yet. So what? Its nice, very nice. The whole thing. I did mention the soft serve cookie dough ice cream, didn't I?

DD who will be 7, and I will be cruising for the first time next April. I was really diggin' the banana boat idea, but it says kids 8 and up. Are they real strict on that rule?

Our favorite thing to do on Castaway Cay? NOTHING!! My favorite picture from our trip last December includes my toes...why? Because I was too lazy to move them out of the picture. I was stretched out in a lounge chair at Serenity Bay, and from where I sat I couldn't see anyone else except DH, who was sleeping in his lounge chair. It was awesome!
