I stayed at the Portofino a couple of yrs ago and got a great rate by reading these posts. What is the best rate you guys are getting these days for the Hard Rock? I am a Loew's First member, AAA and Entertainment card holder. Thanks for any info!!

I looked on the Entertainment site and saw no discount for HRH. Do they still offer a discount??

Tigger1:

I have the 2002 Ent book and the hotels are listed under Orlando as "Universal's Hard Rock and Universal's Portofino Bay Hotels." They are definitely listed this year.

When you call the 1-800-UESCAPE number, ask up front for the lowest possible rate for your dates. Ask for the Entertainment rate, the Loew's First rate, AAA if you have it or a resident rate. Several southern states, including mine, can get the Florida resident rates.

If they do not have the rate for your dates, keep calling back. With cancellations and changes in scheduling, the rates MAY come back.

Good luck.

The Entertainment website doesn't include all the offerings in the books.
As Robin said, the Universal hotels are definitely in the book.

I just booked HRH for Mother's day weekend at $149.00 per night ent. rate.

I just booked the HRH at $109 a night for pool view. There was also $129 for deluxe with a king bed. I used my Lowes First Gold card for these rates, and called 800-Loews-11. I called the Universal number yesterday and was quoted $159 a night for a garden view with the Fan Club card so I am very happy with my rate. Hubby said we could add an extra day after our Disney Cruise if we could get a good rate for the HRH. I think this qualifies. Oh by the way, we're going in October.

piglet33 - How exactly did you get such a great rate. I am also a loews 1st member(blue only) and called the 1-800-Loews-11 and they said that they don't reserve rooms, that they were only a frequent member club. They gave me another number to reserve a room(1-800-563-9711) I called that number and asked if there were any specials with the loews 1st card and they said there were special rates with the fan club card $139 garden. I have the garden rate of $125 with the entertainment card already, so their rate didn't beat it.
I would love to get (and I would imagine so would others) the pool view for $109.... tell me how you did it...please.........:) BTW I'm going in September- not exactly peak.

All I did was call the number on the back of my Loews card and told the rep that I had a gold card and asked what was the best rate I could get for the HRH. She told me the rates I posted above. I jumped at that rate since I knew it was a great one. It didn't top the $99 rate that I got in January, but it's only $10 more so I'm happy. By the way, I just called the number above and confirmed my rate just to make sure. Now I can't wait -- I love that hotel.

We paid $99 AP rate for Sun-Thurs night two weeks ago, rate was $119 at weekend (for standard room)

I had booked $129 AAA rate through AAA, so the $99 APs through AAA saved me another $150!! (1 1/2 passes!!)

I just tried after reading your post and she said lowest she could find was $175 for a garden view!!! This is Nov 1 and 2.

It's either that your a Gold member (I'm Blue) or it's the time of year you are going.

I guess I'll stick with my $139 club rate at the RP.

Oh well , I haven't been able to find anyone who can find a loews 1st discount. They keep asking me, what clubs do I have. The entertainment rate of $125 garden view is the best I've been quoted(I've called 3 x)
