What's the Best Moderate Resort?

I'm looking at the moderate and value resorts for our trip next year and have decided on Pop Century if we go the value route. However, I can't decide between the moderates. Carribbean Beach has been the one I've been using for price quote purposes and I like that they have water recreation available (not sure which of the other mod's do).

So, my question for you moderate resort veterans is: Which moderate is your favorite and why?

We have only stayed at one moderate, and that is Coronado Springs. We loved it! They also have water recreation available, as I see you interested in that. They have Searacers (little motorized boats), paddleboats, and also bike and surrey bike rentals. available. Their lagoon, Lago Dorado, is beautiful. We also really enjoyed the theming, and their food court Pepper Market is great. Maya Grill is their sit-down restaurant and we loved the food there. Delicious. Also their bus service was great. We never had to wait long, and for us it was never crowded. CSR has their own bus service and do not share buses with other resorts.

If you want to know more about CSR, please look up Buzz2001's site. He had great pictures and a wealth of information dedicated to the resort. I'm sorry I do not know alot of other information about the other mods, but if you keep looking around this board you will find a lot of knowledgeable DISers who can help you! Good luck!

The only moderate that I don't care for is Caribbean Beach. I can't really give a good reason, but it just didn't do it for me. The CSR is wonderful and Have stayed there twice. Pepper Market is really nice, pool and slide are great, and the grounds are beautiful. We are headed to POR on Thursday for a first stay and I've heard lots of good things about it, too.

I have stayed at CBR and CSR and I like CSR better. CBR is a great resort and many people love it! However, CSR was to our liking more. We enjoyed the theming and all the resort had to offer. You really can't go wrong with either!

Read about each of the moderate resorts and peoples comments on them, and then come back to this thread to ask specific questions not already covered to help you decide. Asking such an open ended question is probably not going to get yout the information you need to make an informed choice.

I like POR, POFQ and CSR equally. They are all wonderfully themed and have nice amenities. You can find positive things about all the moderates resorts and in the end it's just a matter of which one feels like a good fit for you.

I've only stayed at POR (for a business trip) and we had a car to take us everywhere. But from what I have read on the boards, CBR is not a favorable resort. Most say it is too large and the crowd can get wild.

Friends of ours stayed at CSR and they loved it. I would too, given that I love anything Mexican.
