whats the add-on situation like right now at BCV/BWV?

Just wondering whats gonna happen when I spend our first night ever at BCV? Am I going to want to add-on over there?
Whats the addon situation at either BCV or BWV through Disney?
We ended up buying into DVC w/VWL as our home after our first time staying at WL
My DH may or may not kill me after DS13 & I spend 6nights at BCV
DH & I almost added on after spending a wk on the Disney Magic Western cruise but then I came to my senses. It was tough though. Will it be tough this time too?

BWV is pretty easy to get right now. There are a lot of points available in many use years.

BCV....well, that is another situation altogether....be prepared to wait a while for that one!!!

LOL! Yup, start saving up especially after DS swims at Sab! I waited about a week for my first add-on (Feb use year) and then waited a month for a new contract -150 pts Dec. use year. We love both VWL and BCV. There's nothing like floating along on the lazy river (except floating along the lazy river with a Mike's chilling near by )
and...... that'll give you more time at WDW and away from the cold north

We own @ BCV & wanted to add on there, but didn't fell like waiting. Who knows how long you'd wait. As the OP said, BWV is pretty easy to get in. We just added @ VWL and I've never been there. (So same situation as you, just reversed). You will ove BCV, the pool, the location, and everything. It's close to 2 parks..you can walk most everywhere (if you want to) they have a few good places to eat and so on. Our regret is that when we bought into BCV 3 years ago..we didn't know how much we'd like it and we were going to buy more pts and now kick ourselves for not doing it then (only because we'd prefer to have all our pts at 1 place). Some people have been waiting as long as 10 months and maybe even longer. But if you love BCV and you can wait for the pts then go for it!

There are no available UY's for BCV's right now. I have heard the waitlist is pretty long for all UY's....but, some longer than others.

Thru DVC, you can only add-on to a UY you already have points in. That's actually not so bad. I used to own two different UY's, but now I only have one...it works out MUCH better.

We added on at BCV 25 pts in March (needed enough to stay 1 wk in a 2bdrm), we thought we would be on the wait list for awhile so we also added on at SSR - 120pts. Low and behold since it was a small request it only took about a week, just long enough for us to sign and send back the papers on SSR. We have added on 3 times since our initial purchase of 225 pts its very addictive.....now we have 350 at BCV and 120 at SSR - so you might try smaller contracts to shorten the waitlist time.

Just on a whim we placed a call to our guide for adding-on BCV points, December use year. We received a call back the same day, 6/29, 150 points were available. We placed an order for 75... if Disney was willing to split the 150. If not, we told our guide we would purchase the entire lot.

Please keep in mind I do not know what the wait list is for December UY. We are keeping our fingers crossed for 75... but secretly hoping for 150!!!

My guide said there were no Oct UY add on points for BWV (said he'd call if any came up, not holding my breath). He did say SSR, OKW & VWL were available. I'm going to try & hold out for the Contemporary

Called our guide today on the December UY... As I stated, I did not know the status of the wait list. As I suspected, my hopes were dashed, we were #12 on the December UY. So #1 or #2 were the lucky ones who should have received a call. Now with that said, I was also told 650 points were available at BWV with the December UY... hmmmmm choices, BCV or BWV? Tough choice!!!

BTW... NJDVCFan... how long have you been waiting? This would help us decide on whether we should for-go BCV and purchase BWV...

BWV owner here waiting to add 60 points at BCV. We are waiting to add so that we can have SAB guarenteed once every 3rd year. Having the option for Boardwalk views and standard points, makes BWV a great option as well(still my favorite, BCV is second). If you already own at BCV, then a BWV addon is a great option.

If you look in the thread that I posted above, senecabeach is tracking all of our successes and waits. I think page 21 has the latest update. They are all BCV's right now, with varying UY's. Personally, I have been waiting since March 4th and there are a couple of Decembers ahead of me (and that is just those who post here). I haven't checked with my guide to see exactly where on the list we are, but we were told it could be quick, or it could be months (and the latter seems to be the answer - LOL!!).

I called our guide... we are #21 on the list. Well no longer as I am not willing to wait that long. I submited a request for 150 BCV points instead.

Our guide came through... 150 points BWV, December UY!!

Just in case anyone wants to know... add-ons do not apply to the normal banking deadlines. 100% can be banked anytime during your use year. Our guide originally stated we could only bank 50%. So... I placed a call to the DVC member hot line... even they had to double-check. I guess this is a new policy??? If it is, its a very good one.

For all who are waiting for BCV... you have one less to worry about as I have removed my name from the list.
