What's the 1st TV show you remember watching as a kid and how old were you?

I can remember watching the Mickey Mouse Club--the original one with Annette, Tommy and Cubby and the rest--at my grandmother's house. I must have been 3 or 4 years old. I really loved that show, I wanted to grow up to be just like Annette Funicello!!! I used to sing the Mickey Mouse Club song for anyone who would listen. :D

Given my early signs of Disney addiction, it looks like I've found the right place to hang out!

What is the first show you remember?

Fury.

"The story of a horse, and the boy who loved him".

The first show that stands out in my mind is Mr. Ed. My grandmother loved this show, I think it came on Sunday nights?, and I remember being a little girl, maybe 3 or 4, and watching it with her.

Either Captain Kangaroo or Uncle Al

I Love Lucy and Sesame Street.:) I don't know which came first. I watched one, then the other.:) My 3rd one would be Gumby.:teeth:

The first show that I have vivid memories of is "Thunderbirds" in good old black and white.

Wow! This one is going to date us all...

My first television memory is right after we got our first color television. I remember watching the Jackie Gleason show (with the June Taylor dancers) "in living color."

the first tv shows i remember watching in the US were Sesame Street and Mr. Rogers. They taught me to speak English!

It would have to be between "Romper Room" or Captain Kangaroo. I still remember when they moved to the new Treasure House.

Not quite on topic, but related:

Our next door neighbor still had a black and white TV, our's was
color. Our neighbor was a big fan of Charlie Pride. When he would appear on Hee Haw, she'd come running over so she could
see him "in color".....

Captain Kangaroo and Kimba the White Lion..and I remember our big family night was drinking homemade chocolate malts while watching "Lawrence Welk"..thanks for making me feel old today!

Howdy Doody. I was about 4. I loved Buffalo Bob :)

Mowsie dreamer, I too remember The Mickey Mouse Club as my first show. I must have been 3 or 4 and I can remember sitting watching it with my Mouse Ears (I don't know where my mother got them!). I loved Annette and thought I looked somewhat like her. This is where I'm sure my love of Disney started. Also my love of dancing. I used to dance and sing along with all the Mousekeeteers. Mickey Mouse has always been one of the very first memories. Boy I'm really dating myself!!!!!

Thanks for the memory!!!

CareBear7: I remember almost all of the shows mentioned here, so how old does that make me? Older than dirt, I guess!!

DisneyMim: Care to sing along?

Who's the leader of the club
That's made for you and me?

Great replies!!! Keep 'em coming!

My first strong memory of a TV program was Punky brewster. I was in my Moms room and she had the Tv on and on she came I must have been 6 or 7 :)

mowsie dreamer: It's ok that I feel a little old..those are great memories for me!:D I also remember the original Mickey Mouse show. I wanted to be Annette. I used to try to make mouse ears by cutting and glueing them out of my moms old fabric peices..of course, it never worked! What a great thread..:D
