Oh that? Just a scratch.

Oh from your cat?

No.

From your baby whose nails you haven't trimmed in a week and half?

No.

From what?

Um, I scratched my OWN face thank you very much - in a heated discussion with 4th graders over their places in a Christmas show.

Did you do it in front of the kids?

Yes.

Do you feel stupid?

Very.

Some days should come labeled with a warning sign.

BTW, it's a BIG scratch that bled on my cheek. The 4th graders didn't say ANYTHING. It hurt like heck and when I finally got my mirror out, I was a bit shocked that I drew that much blood and that the 4th graders DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING! I must have looked ridculous! Poor kids - maybe I just scared the heck out of them!!! (Or maybe they got confused and thought we should have been rehearsing a Halloween show instead of a Christmas show?)

Duh! :confused3

Well, that makes them very nice 4th graders.

Yes, that's true. Maybe they felt sorry for me??

I feel your pain - seriously!

Last year one of my tenor sax players grabbed his sax from the closet, turned around, and promptly dropped it.

Did I mention it hit me in the nose?

Oh, and I did I mention it was 15 minutes before our concert started?

It hit my glasses, which cut my nose. I also bit down really hard and chipped my two bottom front teeth (glad this was covered by workmans comp cause our dental insurance inhales). I also got two black eyes.

I'm really glad my kids knew their music really well because I was useless as a conductor.

Oh, my husband also says that I am the only person he knows who can get hurt at a band concert.

I hope your owie gets better soon! :grouphug:

ouch! hope it feels better soon!

oh. well now.... you're not the only one. You are probably talking to the only person who can jam their pinky fingers on the jazz keys of a clarinet. (its been awhile, and I forgot the technical term for them, you know the four little ones that you roll your pinky down on the side?)

Yeah, I always knew instrumental teachers had more dangers than vocal teachers - LOL! Who knew that the arts could do damage?

Last year our marching band had more injuries then the football team (4 people with broken bones from falling during practice).
