We just booked a 9 day vacation for Sept 19-Sept 27. I have never been to WDW in September before. Everything I've read says the crowds are at one of the lowest levels during this time? What is the weather like? Is it still very humid? Rainy?

Also, this will my first stay at the Poly!!! I've only stayed at the ASMo before. I have divorced since my last visit and my new boyfriend wanted to take me on vacation to my favorite spot. However this will be the first "adults only" trip to Disney I have had in years so he wanted to make sure I got to stay at a hotel that wasn't quite so geared toward the kiddies!!!

I'm so excited!!!

you picked an excellent time!
along with the crowds being MUCH lower...it's a value season!

DH and I honeymooned during that time last year (and we're going back again this september!)

yes, you do get a bit more rain...but usually in the form of quick showers that don't last too long. I think we were rained out ONE afternoon during our nearly 2 week trip last year. we just spent the afternoon at our resort relaxing and exploring.

i didn't find it OVERLY humid during our stay...I have a few pictures of me wearing sweatshirts first thing in the mornging over my shorts/tee's.

the love bugs that everyone complains about really didn't bother us...yes they were all over our balcony at WL (but not at AKL come to think of it)...we really didn't even need the bug spray I so wisely packed...I think we used it once when we went walking at night at WL.

oh - park hours tend to be shorter...but being that there are minimal lines, you are able to 'do' the parks faster anyway. We went to DTD/PI much more on our september trip then we did on other trips...cause we had so much time at night to 'kill'.

ENJOY your stay!

We've gone twice during that time. I think it's an excellent time to and will go again in 2005 at the end of September.

One of our mid-late Sept. trips hit a really heavy "love bug" season. We were renting a boat at the Yacht/Beach Clubs and the bugs were EVERYWHERE! Last year, we really didn't see them in FL as much as on our way through LA - they were splattered all over our car.

The rain was a problem on a couple nights that I can remember on our trips. One after noon at MK, it rained from about 4 through the evening. We missed the stage show at the castle and mostly did a few indoor things. Normally I would just do just about any ride in the rain, but we had reservations for the Hoop-de-doo that evening and I didn't want to be wet for that.

On another Sept. trip we sat in the rain for quite a while waiting for Fantasmic. It was delayed, but the rain cleared away in time for us to see the show.

I actually like the shorter hours in the parks at that time of year. You can see the fireworks/Fantasmic, etc. at a decent hour and get back to the room without feeling like you're missing something. With younger children, we wouldn't have wanted to be out to 11 or midnight anyway.

It its still pretty hot and humid in Sept. - but not as bad as summer!! I like that you can still swim in the evenings at that time of year also.

Have fun!!

Exactly what stinkerbelle said. :)

I went in September of 2002, and had a fantastic time!

The lines were non-existant. I rode Splash Mountain six times!!! (It was the first time ever and I couldn't get enough!!!)

Just be sure you have a poncho or umbrella, because yes, there were a few afternoon showers. They came, and within about 10 minutes, they were gone. But during those 10 minutes, it rained HARD.

Stinkerbelle, when are you going? I'll be honeymooning from the 13-23. Can't wait! :)

Congratulations!!!

We are going the 24th through 1st (or 30th? I forget - DH is planning it all!) heheh

Our 1st anniversary is actually the 19th...but whatever...I'm still going to disney and I'm happy! (We are staying at POFQ).
