What's safe?

I live in a country that has flattened the curve, steadily reducing active cases every day, by practicing strict social distancing. I won't feel that it's really safe to return to the U.S. at all until there is a vaccine or at the very least a strong, readily available treatment that significantly boosts survival rates.

Sigh, I get so jealous of people in other countries when I hear stuff like this. In England the Queen goes on TV and reminds people about the sacrifices the British public made for the greater good in WWII. In America that would never happen because we are a country that actually glorifies the concept of being selfish under the guise of "personal freedoms."

i certainly don’t think Disney thinks they are safe, if that was true why are they recommending that their cast members who are 65+ not return to work during phase 1 and phase 2. It’s because it’s not safe for everyone and they are being proactive. i Certainly am not hiding, I’m just not ready to piss away my points and money to have a partially open park, restaurants, and social distancing.

I rented DVC points for July and November, not an owner yet. The rental is technically non-refundable, and I don't plan to ask for compensation if I can't go. This is really no one's fault, and I am the one who assumed the risk. However, I am not sure about the July trip. I don't know if we will go or not or if we will be allowed to go. I wonder if the non-refundable portion will cloud my judgement, but I don't think it will. We might go with restrictions in place. As the Magic 8 Ball says "Reply hazy, try again".

Sorry but I am going to lock this thread as well. We can all argue until we are blue in the face about when to go out versus stay home but that isn't about cruising. We have threads over on the community board if we'd like to compare opinions on the virus.
