You'd think I'd be hip on this information, considering I have a 3 yo dd, but they are into much different things than boys!!!

This is just a neighbor boy down the street, so I don't need to be spending a TON of money, but I do need to know at least what will go over good. I would ask his mom, but they are out of town until the day before the party....

Any suggestions or help would be great. Thanks!! :thumbsup2

Great question!! We have a nephew who turns three at the end of next month and I'm trying to decide what to get him besides the savings bond we always get.

A little background, he wears hearing aids, so I think twice about getting him toys that make noise as I'm unsure if he can make out what they are saying/noise they're making.

My DS is 3 and he loves anything Power Rangers, play animal sets, starter games like Candyland, Memory, etc., books, superhero stuff (Spiderman, Batman, Star Wars, etc.), art supplies (water colors, markers, coloring books, etc.).

I got my nephew Matchbox play sets. They are little fold up carry cases, one was a garage and the other was a heliport, each came with a vehicle. They have differant sizes and I have bought them in the past for my god sons. They even have ones that are fast food drive thru's.

Anything Thomas is always a hit. My 3 yo loves play doh. Matchbox cars, build a bear.

My DS4 would like any thing super hero, army men, coloring/drawing supplies, or dinasours. How about things he could play with outside like side walk chalk/paint, balls, bubbles, etc.

I agree with the Aquadoodle. We got our 3yo DS one for Christmas, the travel type one, and he loves it. It's so nice because it doesn't make a mess and obviously, only writes on the Aquadoodle board.

Another thing he likes is Candy Land, his tool set that makes "real" tool noises and his remote control car.

Yeah, little boys don't seem to change too much...probably can't go wrong with trucks or superhero stuff! One of my son's favourite gifts was a Star Wars Lego set, it made one of the ships and had a couple of characters with it, and only about $10.00 I believe.

I would agree with anything Thomas the Tank Engine. I think a Thomas T-shirt and a train would be nice. I've seen Thomas t-shirts at Toys R Us. Even a DVD of Thomas or anything construction, firetrucks, cars, planes. The usual boy theme.

My son just had his 3rd bday! He loved a fold up Thomas the Train set, Harley Davidson scooter and Hot Wheels. Other things he really loves is a hang over the door basket ball game and any truck or tractor. Anything Buzz Lightyear or the Incredibles.

For a 2-5 year old boy, you can't go wrong with:

Tonka trucks
Geotrax trains and sets
Planes, trains and trucks
Matchbox/Hot Wheels cars
Pretend tools - there are some really cool Home Depot ones at TRU, or Craftsman ones at Sears
Playdoh and accessories
V-Smile video games
"There Goes A ......" DVD's. Some titles are There goes a Rescue Vehicle, There Goes a Train, ect.. You can also find these at TRU.

My DS loved anything to do with Thomas the Tank Engine or Buzz Lightyear when he was three!!

My almost 3yo nephew loves :

Incredibles
Curious George
Buzz Lightyear
