What's over at the Boardwalk area now that Ample Hills is gone?

We loved Ample Hills ice cream. Are the little kiosks that were on the BW (thinking Covid shutdowns)? I suppose the takeout pizza place is still there. Any ice cream replacements? What else is over there now. Dreaming of our September visit :cheer2:

Trattoria still going strong (we did take out, and it was delicious as always!). The abracada-bar still open, and there was a line at the pizza place. I didn't even look at the BW Bakery, so unsure about that. The resort store with candy/food items also open.

I don’t have an answer but I loved their ice cream! I was so excited they were putting a second location in Disney springs 😟

Currently, none of the kiosks on the boardwalk are open due to covid. BW Bakery is open, as well as the others mentioned by another poster above.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like they're doing anything in the Ample Hills space for now. Moreover, the take out window at B&C is closed.

Wow! That is such a bummer and seems so unnecessary!! We did notice there is an ice cream shop that also serves sandwiches and burgers in the Dolphin, if you must get ice cream in that general area.

Vloggers were saying that Disney wasn't able to enforce social distancing due to the crowds at the window. No idea if that is true or not.

Omg I’m so sad! That was my favorite ice cream, I would want to stay in the Boardwalk area just for that!

Awww. Thanks all! We loved Ample Hills. What a shame! Hopefully by the time we visit, things will be mostly opened.

We have been by there a couple of times before they closed the take-out window. It was way too crowded. The area wasn't built for physical distancing. However, I've also read that it may have to do with the kitchen as well. Remember, they have to physically distance in the kitchen, too, so that limits how many cast members can be working there. With a full dining room, it seems possible to me that the limited number of cast members that fit in the kitchen would be overburdened by also having to maintain and service the take-out window.

Seems still a lot is closed.
It looks like Trattoria, Abracadabar and the bakery are about the only things open currently.
The Disney site says the Pizza Window is open again.

When we were there in December they were using the outside tables for guests with ADRs, and guests waiting to be seated for ADRs were also in the area. If the walk up window had been open it would have been way too crowded.

I concur; we waited in line and it wasn't too difficult to social distance other than when they called folks up for their order. However, near the end of our trip, I noticed that they had reserved some of the outdoor tables for the table service part of the restaurant. I wonder if they just wanted more tables for exclusive use rather than having them available for the folks who order at the window.

I thought this was an interesting article: The Shocking Meltdown of Ample Hills.

I saw on another board that Big River Grille recently posted that reopening dates will be announced "soon" and that they've posted job openings. I can't say it was my favorite spot on the Boardwalk or that we ate there frequently but it will be nice to get more "life" on the Boardwalk. Hopefully others can follow and they figure out something to do with the Ample Hills space.

It would be nice to see it reopen. As you said, not my favorite, but always easy to get into.
I thought I had read that it was closed for good, but maybe that changed.
