The general public vote for their favourite song. The one with the most votes in that country are given 12 points, the next one is given 10, then 8, then 7 down to 1. Other countries are just given 0 points. You also can't vote for your own country, obviously. The one with the most points wins. Azerbaijan won this year. I didn't like their song...
