We are taking our first ever trip to WDW this March for Spring Break and will be staying in a 1BR Savanna View at AKL-Kidani Village. We have read that you can get groceries delivered to your resort. We want to do this as we will not be renting a car and would like to do breakfast and snacks in our room. It will be me, DH, DS-10, DS-8 and DD-6. My question is, what items do you typically order? Thanks in advance for all your help!

Well, we don't order groceries because we drive and have our car but I can tell you what we buy at the store.

We usually just eat breakfast in the room so get bread, butter, eggs, sausage patties, hash browns, OJ (and sparkling wine for mimosas), cheese slices, peanut butter, jelly, deli sliced turkey and condiments like catsup, mustard and mayo.

Groceries depends on # of nights, # of people, etc. If we have a car, we shop ourselves. If not, have used gardengrocer three times.

We usually get a case of water, a gallon or two of water, (for coffee), milk, yogurts, fresh fruit, snacks, cereals, salad, cold cuts and wine :). Not much cooking - breakfast and sometimes lunch.

Most of the time now it's just dh and me and in a studio so maybe a box of cereal, milk and coffee. In between or if we run out, we will get breakfast at the resort.

Here goes. There are five of us. We get coffee

Cream
Milk
Cereal
Butter
Bread
Donuts (only peanut free ones we can find are in the U.S., so it's a real treat for Dd with allergies)

Dried fruit
Water
Soda
Makings for one meal a day (I plan my menus and buy only what I need)
Clorox wipes

When are you going next? We might stop by and visit. :lmao::rotfl2:

How far in advance do you order w/ Garden Grocer? Also, if we order stuff like bottled waters and juice boxes, are these allowed in the parks?

For me it is a big box of organic veggies, fruits and roots from Whole Foods Market: cabbage, cucumber, celery, beets, carrots, ginger, turmeric, spinach, arugula, romaine, granny-smith apples, banana, etc.

I just placed an order this past weekend for delivery on Fri. night for a long weekend over MLK. If we were going at a busier time like Easter break or over Christmas I would've ordered probably 2 weeks ahead to be sure to get a slot.

We only use studios and the only thing we eat "in" is breakfast. I use Garden Grocer and I ordered:

a family size box of frozen waffles
sm. margarine
sm. syrup
a reg. size case of water (in the summer or on longer trips more)
1 12-pack of beer (longer trips would = a case or more)
some chocolate milk
a 2 liter of diet coke (to go with my Captain Morgan that I have in our Owners Locker)
a sm. bottle coffee creamer
a bag of frozen fruit to go with the waffles (the fresh stuff was overpriced partially due to the time of year)

I keep coffee filters in our Owners Locker and will bring some coffee with us from home as we only have 4 mornings to worry about. I also have some crackers that I will bring from home too - always good to have a snack in the carry-ons when traveling anyway. In the past I have also ordered bagels and cream cheese and donuts.

I would order at least two weeks in advance. Depending on the season and if you want a specific time frame - the earlier the better. Yes, bottled water, juices, snacks are allowed in the parks.

In addition to the food and beverage items others have mentioned in this thread, remember that there is no salt and pepper in the villa and only a few small sugar bags. We drive there and I also usually bring aluminum foil, cling film, a few ziplock bags of different sizes, and extra coffee filters for the coffee and tea we have. There is plenty of paper towels in all the units as well as dishwashing soap and a small sponge. Have fun!

We rent a car and stock the room first thing when we arrive. Generally we get beer, wine, bottled water, bagels, cream cheese, some deli turkey, cheese and chips. We love hanging in the DVC room and snacking. :earsboy:
