Sleeping was one of the best things a person could possibly do. Whether one chose to take several, short naps or one, eight-hour long rejuvenation, the energy gained was an absolute necessity in completing the days' tasks in a successful manner. The only time such a grand and comforting thing ever caused any major difficulties was when it decided to disappear for a while, leaving the poor and unfortunate soul to suffer in its wake.
Olivia knew the feeling of sleep deprivation well, especially after what occurred the previous night. It seemed that the harder she tried to put her mind at rest, the more it continued to think about random subjects and keep her wake. These subjects ranged from important topics such as what she would do once she turned seventeen (which was only a short, two years away) to more random ones, like what the surprise was in her mothers' 'Salmon Salad Surprise'.
Morning came all too quickly that Saturday and the dark circles that had formed under Olivia's eyes gave her an almost zombie-like appearance. While she would of preferred to stay in her comfortable bed and attempt to rest for at least another hour, her dorm mates made it impossible with their banging around and extremely loud voices. They honestly wouldn't have known the meaning of quiet if a dictionary fell from the sky and hit them in the head, but that was ok. She loved them anyway.
Luckily, the corridor was no where near as congested as it was during the week and, therefore, no where near as noisy. Here Olivia would be able to rest in semi-peace (semi because she was certain that an obnoxious first year would come running past at one point or another, but that was to be expected). She could just take a nice stroll for a bit and then maybe head over to the library for a nap. After all, it was peaceful there and as long as she was sure to block her head from view with a decent sized book, the librarian would surely not notice a thing.
Then again, perhaps that wasn't such a great idea. In order to do such a thing, she'd have to be willing to leave herself in a vulnerable state around questionable classmates and after a certain situation occurred during the previous year, Olivia wasn't necessarily willing to take the risk. Becoming a personal slave did that to people, as it slowly drained their trust away until it was nothing more than a simple idea of the past. Perhaps paying the dueling chamber a visit would prove to be a better use of her time. There trust wasn't an issue (mainly because if anyone had it, they'd quickly find themselves in the hospital wing) and if one of those stupid pepper breath hexes were thrown her way then
well
.that was ok. Who needed their mouth, anyway?!
When Olivia entered the chamber, it appeared to be as busy as ever. Not a single platform was left unoccupied, although there were a select few that only held one, non-dueling student in search for a worthy opponent. One that stood out from the rest had a girl standing on it, which the Hufflepuff happened to recognize after only a couple of seconds. How could she not, after being forced to follow the monster around and serve her every whim? Thankfully she had disappeared soon after the torture began, not that it mattered any now. She was back-and that was not a good thing at all.
Something was different though, although Olivia couldn't quite pinpoint what.
was that a rogue hair protruding from her chin? Or only a simple, trick of the light? Yes, it had to of been the light, but something was definitely not quite right and she would make absolutely sure she found out what it was.
"Hey Creature, where'd you go last year?" Olivia asked as she stepped onto the platform and pulled her wand from her pocket. "Someone get scared and lock you in a closet? Can't say I'd blame them if they did."
....that's still there?! NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IT'S HORRIBLE! *makes all white so you can't read it*
