I have seen a lot of posts as far as favorite fanny pack, favorite back pack and favorite shoes to wear at WDW. What I want to know what do you like to wear, especially in the summer?? I know you want to be comfortable, but I would like to be a little fashionable as well. So tell me your favorite outfits to look nice but also to beat the heat. Also, do you wear the same clothes to the park when you go out to dinner? If so does WDW have a dress code for some of the TS?

I don't believe there is a "dress" code in WDW at any of the restruants because so many are connected with the parks. However, I have never eaten at the California Grill (on top of the Contemporary Resort), which is probably one of the nicer ones there on property.

After a busy day at the parks, we always take a break late afternoon to go back to the room - kids or no kids. We like to clean up and shower and change clothes before going to dinner and finishing off the night. I just feel really gross sitting down to dinner, especially in a table service restaurant (i.e. Le Cellier, Cape May, Crystal Palace, Chef Mickeys, etc.), and being sweaty and gross from the day's activities. Also, in the evenings, I usually change into either nicer capri pants or a skort with a little bit nicer cotton blouse as opposed to the days' wardrobe of shorts (often cargo) with a t-shirt or polo shirt.

Hm.... is that odd? :confused3 :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

It would probably save some time doing laundry while we are there, but we stay for 14 days so we have to do laundry regardless. So, it's 2 outfits per day for us (sometimes 3 for our youngest).

I totally agree with you. When we take our afternoon break I always clean up and change. We go in March and I get cold easily. So most afternoons I change into capris or jeans and take a light jacket back to the park with me. Especially when we have ADR's for dinner. I want to feel clean and a little more "put together" at a TS! Would probably cut down on suitcases and laundry! Thank goodness I lost all that weight...now my clothes are smaller and don't take up as much room!

There are some restaurants with a 'dress code' now - Cali Grill is one. The dress code is pretty casual though - they allow t-shirts and shorts. Just no tank tops, bathing suits, ripped clothes or offensive sayings. Oh, and no flip flops - I think that just about covers it.

If we go back to the resort mid-day we change - and usually shower, but not always. In the summer heat, I'd be more inclined to take a break mid-day.

I really like to wear anything with lots of good pockets - so I prefer khaki's over jeans most days. I look for ones with knee pockets that button or zip. Usually they aren't too hard to find. The trouble is finding something that doesn't wrinkle up when you wash it. For guys that's really easy, for women it's much harder. The long shorts that are popular this summer are great.

One of my all-time favorite outfits was my outfit for AK from a few years ago. Often we jet over to AKL and Boma for dinner, so no chance to go back to the room before dinner....but we also like to ride Cali river Rapids sometimes - or at least I do...So I'd wear khaki pants, and under that i had a dark green tankini swimsuit. It was such that the top didn't really look like a swimsuit - more like a nice tank top. Over that - I have a really pretty sweater that had a really open weave. Almost like a mesh, but much nicer looking. It was perfect. Put it over the swimsuit top for dinner and it really didn't look at all like a swim suit - yet if the outfit got wet on Kali it was fine. Since it's a tankini, using the rest room over the day is easy. Sadly, the bathing suit is worn out now.

I also liked board shorts for a while. Even though they don't have pockets to speak of, they dry quickly if they get wet, and are great in the heat. They aren't the style as much now, and you've got to have your weight down to wear them as every bit of fat shows through. But they are/were great park gear.

If it's cooler in the evening, then we switch to long pants. Sometimes jeans - like for MK in February.

Often during the day, if we've got a stroller, then we bring a dark sweater or sweatshirt. A color like gray, dark green, black will not show dirt quickly. (White and EVERYTHING shows, then you're stuck wearing it until you can get back tot he room). I prefer something with a zippered front and a hood. That way the item can double as rain gear, as long as there isn't a downpour. Even when it's pretty warm, some of the interior restaurants can be cool withthe AC and having a cover is great. Conversely, a lightweight cover can help if you feel like you've had too much sun. So it depends on the expected weather which cover-up I choose. A nice black sweater can dress up any tank-style top for dinner.

Think of the things that you wear on a daily basis & the things that make you feel comfy.. For me in the summer months I love tanks, capri's, short etc... light wearing clothes like cotton and linen are always the way to go; think light and airy; lighter colors are always better in the summer months as well. For the colder months in Disney think layers cause you just dont know what the weather will be like.
As for getting ready for dinner, if your in a park all day and you cant make it back to a resort to clean up, bring stuff w/ you... there are a wide variety of products now that come in the easy to use/carry trial sizes and they work great.

Shorts and t-shirts for me everyday. I don't even pack any jeans or pants.
