I went to Disneyland and CA last time in 2009. I know World of Color and the Ariel ride are both new.
What do I need to know? I probably won't need to use fastpass as I am going with a friend who is legally blind and will have a pass. We are taking our two children and only for one day in the summer. I want to make the most of the day. They both like the fast rides so I know which ones we will hit. Does the disability pass work for all rides or should I keep in mind timing also? IE hitting peterpan first thing... Also how busy are Nemo and ToyStory if we decide to ride them? They were super busy when we went before but my friend was able to use her pass when they went last year.

Also do you have to have a park pass to have a disney meal?

Thanks in advance!

Only 1 day? :scared1:

You need a ticket to get into the parks to eat at a Disney location inside the parks. You can eat in the hotels freely. Reservations can be made as much as two months out, but are often available a week or days out.

Nemo and TSMM commonly have 45 minutes waits.

Star Tours has been redone.
Carsland will be opening with three new attractions.

Wow, one day in summer is going to be tough! You will probably have to decide which things to skip and which are must dos. DCA is under a HUGE makeover right now, set to re-open sometime this summer (unknown date). So if you go before it re-opens you will probably have regular summer crowds. If you go after it re-opens, there will be super busy summer crowds. In addition to the makeover, DCA is also getting a whole new land, Carsland.

I don't know exactly what kind of pass your friend has, if it is a GAC, there are different stamps that tell the CM how to help you access the attraction. So all the rides have some kind of access, but it is not always quicker (Space Mountain, Pirates, and IASW come to mind).

It is always a good idea to have a solid touring plan even with a GAC, because the handicapped lines can get quite long as well. For example, the Space Mountain handicapped line can exceed the standby queue in the afternoon of a busy day. So can Pirates and IASW. Peter Pan can also have a long handicapped line in the middle of a busy summer day.

Happy planning and have fun! :goodvibes

Thanks so much, it will be the second trip for her that year.. she is going 2 other times with her whole family. On this trip we are picking up her daughter (after she has spent a week in California with a friend) and I thought I would bring my son to tag along, we will fly in one day spend the night.. disney the second day and fly out the third.
Thought I might hit a Character meal on the first night... and go to Downtown disney... if possible.

We have all went before, so yes we will limit what we want to do. Lots of space mt, Buzz lightyear I am sure, both the kiddos like the fast rides and she is hoping to get a ride on screamin. We'll see how her trip with her whole family goes as to what she really wants to go on again. I would like to go on TOT for sure, and Space MT.. the rest would be a bonus.

It would be cool if cars is done, we would hit it at opening if it is, thanks for the heads up... is Ariel busy?

Ariel's line moves fast. It's 10-15 minutes but you just keep walking almost the whole time.

For Carsland it's hard to stay when it opens, but if you go later it will be more likely. Also with the changes in DCA its likely it's operations will change too and it may open earlier and stay up later.
