What is more important to you at a movie theatre?

  • Service: I like a cashier with a friendly smile and a good attitude

  • Speed: Good attitudes and friendly smiles don't make up for long lines

Ok the scenario is you're at the movie theatre on a busy Friday night standing in line for concessions. What's more important to you, a cashier who is friendly but slow in getting your order (and as a result the line moves slower) or a cashier who is indifferent but very fast in getting your order (and as a result the line moves faster.)

Also when I say indifferent I mean someone who is emotionless, not happy smiley sunshine, but not rude. Just in between I guess.

I'll say that at a movie theatre, all I want is speed. I don't necessarily care if someone is smiling at me, asking me what movie I want to see, etc. All I want is my pop and popcorn as fast as possible.

speed. I could care less if they want to be my friend. Just get my order right, and I'll be polite.

Speed. I just don't want to miss the beginning of the movie.

For the record, I am in the indifferent cashier. ;) Although, I have been known to crack a smile before...I am fast though, mainly because I know how much *I* hate to wait in line. Last night a customer asked me college major and then gave me his business card and said "you seem efficient, give me a call." :cool1:

I think it's possible to be fast and friendly- smiles don't take long! I worked as a cashier for a long time! Always fast- always efficient, and not gonna lie- not always friendly :stir: , BUT, usually!! :teeth:

That said- I hate to wait in line and I am not there to make new friends, so- GET MY POPCORN AND COKE QUICK!! :rotfl2:

Speed. At my theater (a Carmike Cinema) the workers are as slow as molases! There always seems to be plenty of them standing around doing nothing and only 1 person at each concession stand(this is a 15 screen multiplex). Plus I think they should have a sperate ticket booth for people who want to pay with cash becuase it takes forever if someone uses a CC there. I realize all I'm missing is the 20-25 minutes of commericals and previews that happen before the show, but I want to get a decent seat and not stumble up the stairs in the dark.

Speed. As a matter of fact, that goes for McDonald's, Wal-Mart, and the DMV.

I am sorry I am for Service!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hate a horrible rude person helping me.
And speed is not the goal for me thats why I always get to the show 40 to 30 mins before the show starts!!

Speed. If I have to miss the beginning of the movie, I am annoyed and it wont matter if the cashier is friendly. And I get to the movies early, but I wont be arriving an hour early to wait in a long line.
