What's more American than Disney?!We Brave the 4th of July! TR LINK pg. 55!!!!!!!

Oh my gosh....love the old photos! Wow, an Epcot monorail preview?! That would have been awesome. (I think it's so cool that Epcot and I are the same age :goodvibes )

Wow those photos are amazing Nikki!! - love that you have the pic of tickets too :thumbsup2

My Dad went to WDW and DL in 1980 (same trip.. road trip across America!) and I would love to find the photos of that trip... he said there was a display about Epcot center in the MK Exhibition Hall (I wasn't there then, 4 years before I was born :rolleyes1 !) lol

Thanks guys!!! Emma, I don't have a picture of the tickets, I scanned the actual tickets!!! I'm so glad my mom kept them! I always complain that she never throws anything away but I'm so glad she didn't get rid of these!

Oooooh, now I want to post the rest of the old ones!!! Gotta finish 2006 first!

We've eaten there a few times, mostly because the onion rings are delicious, the drinks are strong and you can't beat the atmosphere!

I'm thinking this sounds like our kind of place! I've been once before but was in 2003 and can't remember too much, really looking forward to it! We tried Prime Time last trip and it was ok, not really my cup of tea!

Looking forward to more photos, what a cool piece of Disney history having those tickets! :cool2:

Hi Nikki,

I've been indulging in that 'guilty pleasure' of watching WDW videos on YouTube! just found this one -

I may have shed a tear or two :rolleyes1 (which I'm blaming on the stress of revising accounting, of course!)

I love this song - I have it in a Disney parks piano book but never seen it on a cd, it's so beautiful! :lovestruc

Sorry to go a bit OT! lol

Yes, definitely try it. It's not the most delicious meal you'll have all week, but it is fun!

Love it! Thank so you much for sharing! You know I love stuff like that. That is definitely like what I want to do once I put all the pics together. Great song too. Wish I would have thought of it first. Don't want to steal anyone's ideas!

Any suggestions for a good song?

Hi Nikki! Came on over from Katie's TR. First off, I have to say I LOVE those lyrics you made up for the Single Riders. That is great! :thumbsup2

I have to get caught up now. popcorn::

Glad you liked it!! :goodvibes

Hmmm a song... how about the 'Welcome Medley' from MK? (on the Four Parks One World cd), or 'Celebrate You' by Corbin Bleu (last year's theme song!) :wizard:

Emma princess: x

Both good choices! Although I'm really stuck on "We Share A Dream Come True" now!! I'll have to think about it. I just ordered a DVD recorder so I'll be transferring all my old VHS tapes to DVD and then figure out how to upload them to my hard drive...

Thanks for coming over!!! AND for the compliment on the song. I have a bad taste in my mouth over it being done already but I'll get over it so I can make an awesome video in July!

Continuing our first trip together in 2006....

We left on in MGM Studios and I was about to tel you about a time when I was the hottest I have ever been in my entire life!

We sat down for Stars and Motor Cars!! Well, as we were looking for a seat, I saw an empty bench on one side of the street. It was odd because the other side of the street was PACKED with people. I just thought we were lucky so we snagged the bench.

Well, just as the parade was about to start, I realized why the bench was empty. The one cloud in the sky moved and there was the most blazing hot sun!!

I have video footage, but the the sweat was literally dipping into my eyes! It was the hottest I've been in my entire life and we were kind of just stuck there until the parade was over!

Here are some pictures from the parade. You can sort of even SEE how hot it was!

Look at how nice and shady is was on the other side of the street!!

I remember we bought a bottle of water as soon as that parade was over and finished it in like 5 seconds. We got right back in line and bought another one!

After that parade, I think we left MGM.

Again, he's hot and he's tired, but he LOVES disney world!!

Now, I had planned something for every night of the trip. The first night was Spectro and Wishes...this night was Pleasure Island!

I had been going to PI since I was a kid and you used to have to pay just to get on the island! You also had to be a certain age to get on without a parent. I had gone to the Adventurer's Club way before I should have! I'm sure a lot of the jokes went over my head but even as a kid, I loved it! That and the Comedy Warehouse. I even had the (dis)pleasure of answering the phone once! They made up a song about me!

In 1998, we went with my dad's entire family and I was only 17. Luckily, all my cousins are older than I am so my cousin Steve pretended to be my Uncle and I was in! That was my first experience in 8-trax and it was so fun dancing to 80s music!!

Then in 2003, it was the first time I was really old enough to get the full PI experience. We rocked out to this band on the West End Stage, Went to Mannequins for the first time (revolving dance floor!) and drank my fair share of booze!

Anyway, because of the past experiences, I was so excited to take Tom there. Unfortunately, the past two days had caught up to us....

But we made it there eventually...

It was a fun, fun night!

It's really fun hearing about your first trip together! You did an excellent job planning it! I bet that was the best feeling in the world when you realized he loved Disney, too. MY DF is a fan but I wouldn't call it LOVE.... yet. Muahahaha *ahem* sorry about that. Anyway keep the good stuff coming!

no clue how much it will cost for a ride to universal we are driving down from connecticut so we will have our car. We find it is cheaper to drive even with gas prices so high four tickets to florida would be exspensive. I actually like to drive down my parents always drove down when I was a kid so I just enjoy the ride.

Not trying to "hijack" but I must ask how long it takes you to drive down? We are in Wethersfield and have always flown. I am wondering how much cheaper it really is to drive. We usually fly the 5 of us for $1500 which is expensive but I wonder how much it is with gas, motel stop, meals, etc.
Plus I feel like it adds 4 days (2 in the beginning and 2 in the end) to the trip. I would love to hear your insight!

Lovely update Nikki!

Awww the Adventurer's Club - I miss it!! (btw apparently some of the decor can now be seen in the new D Street shop at West Side!!)
I went there aged 15 and 17 with my family (one time my Dad got pulled up on stage and had to be 'Cowboy Brian', he had to do a dance with a plastic cow!!:laughing:) - like you say, a load of jokes probably went right over my head but I loved the theming and experience...

I took DF there on our first trip & it was fantastic to be able to order a Kongaloosh for the first time!! The barmaid lowered DF's bar stool to the ground too, by magic :wizard:- his face was priceless!!
Then later on, when we were in the library room, the boy scout character grabbed the back of DF's chair and wheeled him out the room :rotfl:

Happy memories!!

Emil Bleehall!! He was my favorite!

ry%3D400

We celebrated our engagement at the AC! We spent a lot of time chatting with the characters and just enjoying the club. I'm so glad we did that because it was the last time we got to go there. It was really special, even before I knew it would be closing.

I know the actors often switched roles, but this guy who played Emil Bleehall was the best!!!! And what's funny is, going back through my old albums last week, I spotted this actor as one of the World Showcase Players back in '94 or '95! How funny!

It really was such a relief!! I was so worried that he wouldn't like it at all.

And that's the plastic cow my Dad had to hold!!! :rotfl:

Have you heard about this fan group Nikki...

Emma princess: x

Hahah, good times!! I still can't believe they actually closed that place. It was such a unique, disney gem!

Yes, I've heard of that. We thought about going to the event in October but we need to start thinking about our future!! Like saving money for a house, maybe a child or two.....

Hey guys! Here's my latest Disney video! It's a montage of all the "characters" DH and I have met since we started going to WDW together in 2006. Hope you like it!
