What's in your park bag?

thanks for the great tips! For all of you bringing water bottles.... what size do you bring? My usual clean canteen holds about 16oz. but it gets pretty heavy after a while. If you take a smaller size are there plenty of places to refill along the way?

Mine is 32 ozs, but I'm the mule, plus 3-5 full bottles (depending on length of day) for refill. It gets lighter as the day goes on. Refilling with tap water in CA is not a great idea but it is better than FLs.

I bring a 20 ounce bobble bottle because it has a filter and I put it in a neoprene sleeve with shoulder strap because it keeps it cold and lets me carry it hands free without needing a real bag that will slow me down at bag check plus the shoulder strap is very comfortable and padded.

My son is pretty hard core about his worries about potential contaminants in tap water and his pickiness about the taste so he uses a 23 Oz lifestraw water bottle so he can refill it and feel good about drinking it and enjoy the taste. He carries it in his bag all day and never seems bothered by the weight. You could fill that bottle from the water in the Rivers of America and drink it (not that he would though).

Since we use filtered bottles they dont need to be big as we can refill them as much as we want.

What I bring to the parks: anything my wife wants me to carry!!

As far as what I put in the bag: chewing gum - not for sale anywhere on property and I am a perpetual chewer!

My backpack is CamelBak/Platypus compatible meaning that it has a spot specifically for my water hose and resevoir with at least 2 liters of water especially on hot days. This is important because of the insulation. I can fill it with water and ice and the water is still cold hours later. To me, it's a must.

Also, I have:

- An extra change of clothes for each kids, possibly two pairs of shorts when they were potty training.
- An extra shirt for me. On hot days, I sweat a lot. It's so nice to be able to put on a fresh shirt later in the day just before the temperature dips.
- Light sweatshirts
- Sunscreen! This is not optional for me even on cold days.
- Snacks. I basically pack a lunch for the kids
- Autograph books. Obviously this is optional, but I've forgotten these more than once and have had some pretty sad kids because of it.
- Nighttime toys. This includes the "Glow with the show" stuff or the spinny lightup things
- Sticker books for when we are waiting for the parade.

We usually take the following:

Bandaids
Ibuprofen
Sunscreen
Hand sanitizer
Sweatshirt for the evenings (depends on the time of year)
Snacks for the kids
Water bottles
Autograph books

As our kids get older, we tend to take less and less. :)

You can refill at First Aid in both parks. At RDZ, MJB, Village Haus, and Starbucks in DtD, there are filtered spigots for water. Plaza Inn will let you refill a water bottle (CMs like you to use a cup to get the water, not put your bottle up to the fountain) at the soda machines. Market House has water out on the counter, usually, so you can fill up there. And just about any CS location will give you free cups of ice water (just ask for however many you need) to pour into your bottle.

i bring a cross body flat type backpack, my DH brings a small backpack.

in his backpack we bring water bottles, an ice pack and snacks ( veggies, apple slices, goldfish, granola bars, cookies) , ponchos for wet rides.
in my bag i carry the cellphones & camera, park maps/ any planning notes, wallet, hand sanitizer, wet wipes.

they kids have small fannypack type bags and a notepad and pen , autograph books and a disposable camera.
