A rec room? Bar? Playroom? Theater? Disney room? I loved to hear how you've used your extra space. :)

We have a TV/Family room, a computer/game/reading room and what I call a "hearth" room. The hearth room has a brick hearth with a wood burning front viewing stove, a reading chair and lamp, a small table with pictures, and the cat's bed and toys. The other room is a utility room with DH's workbench, tools, the vacuum cleaner,a small refrigerator and the freezer (and shelving for storage). We really enjoy our basement. We actually live down there more than upstairs. It's very cozy in the winter and nice and cool in the summer. We also have a coat closet and a large pantry closet there where I keep extra kitchen overflow.

My basement is 3/4 finished. the unfinished part is where my washer/dryer, boiler, etc is. There is also storage in there-it's gross, lol. I call it the dungeon. The other section is a playroom for the kids. The 1/2 that I'm in right now has the computer-my dd's playstation, a 32in TV, 2 couches and a recliner, a 1/2 bath and a storage closet. We finished the basement and designed it to be a "hangout" for my kids and their friends as they get older.

Our basement is in the process of getting finished...hope to have it done by spring break.

It will be a Disney room. I've got lots of Disney stuff ready & waiting.
I'm presently mulling over the idea of buying the coffee table & end table on line from Disneydirect. :scratchin

Family room - with tv/entertainment center, kids' computer
Home office
laundry room
bathroom - with shower
"water closet" - closet with hot water heater, water softner & holding tank for well water
furnace room/workshop
and another unnamed oddball room - I call it the walk-through room. The stairs but you in this room. Our basement is fully exposed (walkout) on the back side. This room is on the front side of the house. There were two existing block walls in the basement - one long ways down the center and the 2nd one next to the stairs from the first to the front wall. There are no windows - just doors to the water closet & bathroom and entry to the hallway with the office door opposite. I always feel the need to explain this odd ball room to first time guests.

A huge room that we call the Library, a full bathroom that DS uses, a family room for the kids and their friends...and an excercise room with all that equipment that collects dusts! :rotfl:

Right now mine is my daughters second playroom...we added a 22x14 room on the house for her playroom but that one is full so the overflow room is downstairs. We have shelving lining part of the wall for her games etc and her big castle is down there and a bunch of other toys, including her sports stuff since she can play ball down there if she wants. I will redo it to like it was when I was a kid soon....air hockey, pinball machine, pool table, darts, fooseball table, TV,DVD etc...when I was a kid everyone hung out here and we all stayed downstairs.

Our house is a multi-level, so in the semi basement part there is DD's bedroom, the laundry room, a bathroom with no shower, but a jacuzzi tub and the family room. The lowest level is not finished yet, but will someday be a storage area and one room that we aren't sure how we will use it. It won't have an official window big enough to call it a bedroom, so it will probably be used as a TV/rec room.

Ours is about 2/3 finished.... we have a massive toy room where we also have a TV/entertainment center, my treadmill (positioned across the room where I can see the TV when I'm using it... :rotfl: ) the computer, and a bar that the previous owners put in and we will be ripping out in order to put in a 2nd bathroom-we're definitely going to need that with 2 girls!! :rotfl:

we have an entertainment room with projector and pull down screen for movies or great football games (like the steeler games) and its also my disney room - wall entertainment center full of disney stuff...we also have my oldest dd bedroom down here and a computer room that i share with my 2 cats that look just like (mallcats) is yours a bengal cat???

nothing yet -

but ours will be open to the first floor - aka no door and rails instead of a wall ...

and down there will be a kids playroom,
my scrapbook room,
and MANTOWN (aka pool table, bar, etc...

I am also debating having Mark build a wine closet under the stairs - I think it would be rather simple and inexpensive and just kewl!

there will also be a full bathroom OR a batting cage - still debatable....

Our finished basement (walkout) is mostly one huge room, so we have it divided into seperate areas--exercise equipment, the computer area, a wine cellar, and a home theater. There is also a good sized storage room and a huge closet on that level.

We have a home theatre, a wet bar, a full bathroom, a playroom and an office. The unfinished part is storage, laundry and furnace/water heater.

Play room, Toys, toys and more toys. A big plastic play house, a slide (for the baby/tolder) a couch (for me to sit on while they play.) And then more toys. Lots and lots of them.

No T.V, CD player and radio.

We also have a workshop down there (for DH) a half bath (Fishie themed) a large pantry and stroage space, a furance room and the washer and dryer.

I love my basement. :goodvibes

When the playhouse toy phase is over DH wants to turn it into a home theater area with progetction screen and recliners.

we have a big bonus room above the garage and I was thinking of that but It has a HUGE double window -
I quess I could just buy some real real heavy curtains for it!

Powder room, Home theater, Sleeper sofa, and a small room for kids to play in.

It's mainly the kids' playroom with a sofa, love seat, TV, playstation & game cube. Also, DS's drum kit and electric piano.
A bar with 4 stools, sink, full size fridge
Laundry/work shop
Exercise room
ETA: I forgot the full bath

1/2 bath
hot tub
pool table
bar

and a few other things
