What's in your bag?

What is your must to carry on you in the parks? We'll have two two year olds. My biggest concern is stuff to keep them occupied in line. One is particularly impatient and busy even for a toddler. I'm sure this has been discussed a thousand times but my searching is not finding much.

The best thing you can have is a plan that keeps you from waiting in lines much. I'm a fan of the Easy WDW plans, but there are others. If you make it a priority to get to the parks before they open and ride things in the right order, you can ride a lot before lunch time without hardly standing in lines at all. Then you can ride a few things that hardly ever have long lines after lunch and go back to your hotel room for a break. In the evenings, you again ride things that don't have much of a wait, and if you got a 4th FP+ before you left in the morning, you can use that.

Other than that, a few emergency snacks can go a long way. Taking glow jewelry and other things that light up can also make waits more pleasant for nighttime fireworks and parades.

I agree with the above. The first way to tackle the line wait, is to avoid it. First plan of action is to get fast passes (if you are staying on site) and second plan is to get the My Disney Experience app which tells you wait times for rides.

Now, once you are in line, we always found that the people around us were a HUGE distraction. It's not like the lines are quiet and all that orderly, you know? Everyone is excited, many dressed up in costumes, lots of things to look at around you, and Disney is pretty good about keeping the line moving.

As a last resort, I'd have with me lollipops (real ones, like DumDums), stickers, and once time a PEZ dispenser/candy.

We only have one DD (4 yrs old), but have been taking her since she was 8 months. Though I've prepared for the lines, really it's never been a problem. Everyone is so interactive.

*I do suggest having water/drink with you in line. Very important.

Good luck!

Good advice so far. Have a plan and use some FP. We always brought a few snacks/ or got some water from qs to bring in line, in case a line took longer than anticipated. Extra clothes in gallon ziplock bags and towels.... Our kids like water play areas and sometimes just letting them play and not have to be anywhere helped with their attitude, well that or a nap.

We won't step in a line that is longer than 35 minutes. Def. use FP+ to your advantage. Snacks, spare clothes (including sandals in case shoes get wet or they want to run in Casey Jr's play area), and we bring an old iPhone that has Wifi and old games on it. I don't like distracting with technology all the time, but every now and then it helps.

We'll be at Disneyland so the waits should be shorter thankfully. Stickers and lollipops are a great idea. One may be to the point of looking for hidden mickeys so I'll be bringing that book too. The other is That Kid so he's a bit more of a challenge.

Camera, chap stick, sharpie (to sign hats), park map, epipen & Benadryl, Tylenol/Advil, wipes in a zip lock bag, phone.

My kids are 14, 11 & 9 and they have gone at ages 15 mo, 22 mo, 2.5 yrs, 4, 4.5, 7, 8, 9, 11 (I think) and I never brought anything for them to do in line. They are good kids when in public and don't run, make a lot of fuss, etc.... There are so many things to look at that there has never been an issue. I used to bring a snack, maybe I did 2 yrs ago too, but I limit my self since we are strollerless now and my kids carried their own crap, aka their water bottles. I think they moaned but they were thankful to take a sip when needed.

And we go to the park early, we do the early entry park and we are there 1/2 hour before opening. We know what ride we want to do and aim for there.
