What do you keep in your bag when you are walking about Disney that you consider absolutely essential? Sunscreen? Snacks for the kids?

Last time I went it was Asprin, autograph book, camera, hat (when on a ride), pen and wipes.

We kept Gatorade single serving powder packets and would just refill our water bottles and add one - SO good and so much cheaper than buying drinks (plus probably slightly better than soda). Aspirin is a good one!

I carry sunscreen, a bag of trail mix, a change of shirts for me and the boy, ibuprofen, extra batteries for the camera, and a frozen bottle of water.

In my purse (Vera Bradley Mailbag), I carry my point and shoot camera, wallet, phone, baby wipes, hand sanitizer and possibly iPad (if there is something we are doing where DD may sit and wait a while). Snacks, changes of clothes for DD are all left in the stroller.

small kids with me so when I go places:
* snacks
* water bottle
* wipes/sanitizer (I like the Gold Bond travel sanitizer lotion combo)
* camera
* sunscreen
* ziploc bags of varying sizes to put wet/dirty things and protect stuff from wet rides)
* little first aid kit with band-aids and neosporin
* kleenex pack
* tylenol and Tums plus any other meds we need to have on hand

Luckily we are likely to be staying relatively close so I will try to avoid hauling much more! ETA: Forgot one thing I need to add -- post-it notes! I need to block the auto flush sensors in the toilets or I end up with screaming, crying, terrified kids. Not good for the toileting experience.

I'm a rebel, I don't carry a bag through the park with me!

That being said, DD's 8yo, so we're no longer carrying diapers, etc.

In my 'locker bag,' I have:
Sweatshirts
Moleskin
Mickey Bandaids
Hydration (ie, water bottles, don't like the tap water there)
Cell phone
Second camera (depending on my mood)
Sunscreen, depending on the weather
Snacks

We are pretty fanatical park hoppers, so, before long, we're passing by our locker and can grab whatever we need.

In my pockets at all times while in the parks are:
Lip balm
Camera (usually a fake-Flip style)
Nausea medicine (1-2 tabs)
Fast Passes
Park Passes
Driver's License
Credit Card
Disney Gift Card(s)
Insurance Card
Business Card of my SO, with "IN CASE OF EMERGENCY" written on it
Key card for motel

baggalini dh carried...

sunscreen in plastic bag
extra ziploc for phones/etc.
ziploc with change of clothes for the 5 yr old
folding potty seat
clorox wipes (travel size, to clean the potty seat)
wet ones
bottle of water
chapstick
camera
snacks (couple granola bars)

in my bag...
phone
2 bottles of water
(it was much smaller, this more than filled the bag)

Park passes & FPs switched between the two bags depending on the plan.

Hopefully my 5 yr old will get over her fear of using a public toilet soon (not before the next trip though I'm sure)...that will really lighten the load.

Two things I desperately wished I had in the bag were tissue & excedrin, and every day we forgot to add it before heading out lol

Our backpack always contains the following:
Camera
Extra batteries for the camera, just in case
Sunscreen
Wet Naps
Dental Floss
Advil
Tums/Rolaids (antacid of some type)
Chapstick with sunscreen
Extra pair of socks
Coupons/Vouchers
Snack of some type

Money, Credit Cards, Gift Cards are usually in my husbands wallet in his pocket and we both carry our phones in our back pocket.

My lime green baggalinni always has the following...

- Extra hair ties (never know when one might break!!)
- Hand sanitizer
- Hand wipes (thanks to Big Thunder BBQ)
- A small Disneyland merchandise bag; used to wrap my cell phone in on water rides
- Camera
- Little baggie filled with SD cards (just incase)
- All the change I collect during my trip for the pressed penny machines
- All the receipts I collect during my trip, just incase I need to exchange or return something
- Bottle of water
- Extra strength Excedrin
- Tums

We use an old Jansport backpack and bring: Sunscreen, chapstick, ibuprofen, some snacks for the kids (goldfish crackers, granola bars, fruit leather, etc.), hand sanitizer, a few Pullups, package of wipes, and camera.

If we're going at a chilly time of year or when it gets chilly as the sun goes down, we pack the kids' fleece blankets, sweatshirts, mittens/hats, and long johns (if they're not already wearing them under their clothes).

In my Perry the Platypus string tie bag I carry:

-Cell phone and camera in a ziploc baggy (protect against water and liquid issues)
-wallet
-Nalgene water bottle (that I fill up at the Baby Care Center and Rancho del Zocalo)
-baggy with band-aids of various sizes (Muppet and Mickey styled), neosporin, chapstick, hand sanitizer
-bottle of Advil
-napkins (usually taken from any counter-service we are eating at): you never know when a napkin is going to come in handy
-and of course, my LGMH attached to the outside!

I know it may seems like a lot of extra things that wouldn't be used, but years of Girl Scout trips has taught me the value of carrying all of those things, especially the band-aids.

I have had the same small 101 Dalmatians knapsack for 17 years. It has always had:
- Wallet for money to spend!
- Sunglasses
- My collection of fortunes from Esmeralda on Main Street

As a kid I also carried:
- Autograph book
- My favorite Beanie Baby Velvet

Now it also has:
- Chapstick
- Wintergreen Mickey Mints
- iPhone

I carry:
  • Tickets/money/vouchers in a lanyard
  • Refillable water bottle - sits in the scooter basket
  • A camera bag with a camera and hand sanitizer
My service dog carries (in his backpack):
  • His collapsable water bowl
  • His shot records
  • Snack bars for me
  • Meds I might need
  • Paw wax for him
  • Treats
Since we take long afternoon breaks, we no longer take any other food. We also apply sunscreen before we leave and reapply during our break.

I carry:
camera
extra batteries for camera
sunglasses (usually wearing or on my head, in bag if on a jumpy ride)
pen
extra hair tie
bandaids
wipes or small antibacterial hand gel
vaseline lip gloss
small sunblock for the face
hand lotion
money, ID, credit card, park tickets
park map/times guide and usually a paper with my plan for the day

My DD (9) carries her own small across the shoulder bag:
autograph book and pen
pennies and quarters for squishing
her own spending money
tissues
sometimes a small toy/entertainment device

DH gets stuck with a backpack--we could do without it if needed
more extra batteries
small snacks--like trail mix, breakfast bars, fish crackers
2 water bottles
sunblock
sweatshirts X2 or3
Disney pins and lanyard for trading
tissues/napkins
extra plastic bags
video camera
IBU or Tylenol

Very excited to go on our first multi-day trip sans stroller! No place to hang a backpack so I have a very small cross shoulder bag with (in order of importance):
lipgloss
DL passes
sunscreen
sanitizer
Cash
camera [don't need as DH has iphone but he won't always take the shot I want ]
Visa
Drivers license
bandaids
mini pack of wipes
blister block (trying for DD who manages to get blisters with Crocs)
hotel key [priority #3 for EMH]
mini tubes of adult and kids Advil
Target bag folded tight [to keep the bag dry on wet rides]
phone
gum

This thread is very informative. I'm going to steal some of your guys' ideas on my next trip :)

Last trip I had:

  • Hand sanitizer
  • Aspirin
  • Pepto Bismol (which came in very useful last time =)
  • Handy wipes (to wipe my face after getting soaked by WOC)
  • Poncho (see above)
  • Point & Shoot camera
  • Batteries for the camera
  • Bottled water
  • Mochi crunch (mmmm delicious)
  • Disney dollars (in $1, $5 and $10 denominations)
  • My trusty traveling Pooh bear stuffed animal =)

I bring a small handbag with the following items...

  • Phone
  • Point & shoot camera
  • Travel size Hawaiian Tropic sunscreen
  • Kleenex
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Water bottle
  • Hair ties
  • Chaptstick
  • Powder compact
  • Oil blotting sheets for the Summer months
  • Advil
  • Hand lotion
  • Photo pass
  • Map
  • and of course my Minnie Mouse ears :)

I used to carry a fanny pack until my brought it to my attention that it made him "lame by association" but now I carry a wristlet. I keep my debit card, cash, sunscreen wipes, a few baby wipes, photopass card, room keys, my phone, and band aids.

Usually I bring my camera bag on one day with my dslr and lenses but I don't really add any more stuff to it.
