Can you tell me what your essentials are while visiting the parks? I want to get a list going of what is needed to bring.

Thanks!

  1. Wet Ones anti-microbial wipes ... for everything
  2. small first aid kit
  3. larger first aid kit
  4. camelbak reservoir
  5. gatorade powder
  6. 2-4 costumes for kiddos
  7. extra pair of socks for everyone
  8. one adult t-shirt
  9. one child t-shirt
  10. autograph book and 10-color gel pen
  11. moleskine notebook and my favorite pen
  12. half-pint of white rum
  13. tums, pepcid, immodium, tylanol, excedrin, motrin, klonopin
  14. squishy ear-plugs for DW
  15. Duffy

We had a double stroller so we had a basket to fit more than what we would likely carry in just a backpack. We brought:
Snacks and water
Band aids and blister block
Change of clothes for the kids
Sunscreen (we also like the sunscreen stick for easy application on the kids' faces)
Autograph book (but the kids were too afraid of the characters so we didn't really use this)
Camera
Portable battery for our iPhones to recharge on the go (we let the kids play with our phones in line and the batteries drain like crazy!)
Glowsticks from the dollar store
Pennies and quarters for the penny machines

[*]half-pint of white rum

Of all the helpful suggestions I've ever discovered on the disboards, this has to be the best!!!! My diaper bag will definitely be just a bit heavier this trip!

And you have an advantage in using this advice, put it in a baby bottle if you worry about being found out.

Just don't mix it up.

I keep extra memory cards for the camera. I have had them fill up and have had them go bad. If they go bad you can still get your pics off them if you don't mess with them and they are probably very expensive in the parks.

I also keep

-travel spray on Neosporin
- baby wipes
- band aids
- any chaffing stick or gel

A ton of other little stuff too blanking out on. My husband would insist that I must have shark repellent in there too because I have everything else

Oh I get the huge ziplock bags. I think they are 2.5 gallons. I keep 2 in the backpack. When we go on rides with water we throw our phones and wallets on there. I keep the camera in there when I'm not using it. When it rains we just zip up the bags inside the back pack and go on our way

What size camelbak do you recommend?? Need to order one from Amazon!

The 2 liter one (or 70 oz I think) has always been enough. The key is to regularly stop for cups of ice before you hit the bottom of the bladder (so to speak. Fill with ice instead of water because it tastes better than the tap water and it keeps everything cold (even my back). Just have to drink it at the rate it is melting.

Sports Authority has packets of the powder premeasured and most grocery stores will have the little orange tub of the Gatorade mix.

My list, for my family with older kids who carry their own water and cameras. I use a Baggalini cross-body messenger.

(Copied from my "in bag every morning" list)
Tickets
Wallet
Cell phones
Map
Touring Plan/conf #s
Sunscreen on (and packed)
Water, drink mix, snacks
Ziplocs
Pin lanyards
Lost-kid cards
Ibuprofen
Camera
Anti-bac/Kleenex/wipes
Mini emergency kit
Glow sticks
IDs and room keys for all

Having the list out helps me quick-check everything to be sure I didn't leave out my cell phone after charging, or the wrong park map.

I always take big trash bags for spreading on wet sidewalks so we can sit down on the curb for the parades and not get our bottoms wet. They don't weigh much. :)

Rain gear, too, is handy if showers are expected. For some reason, we always seem to get a shower or two at WDW.

Pain reliever of some kind helps, too.

-Poncho
-Wristlet
-makeup bag with hand sanitizer, lip balm, band-aids, feminine stuff, etc.
-Glasses case
-Water bottle
-Extra socks, undergarments, maybe a t-shirt and pants (so I don't have to spend time going back to the resort before dinner)

I love the idea of the large garbage bags to sit on! I will definitely have to remember that.

We are here now. In my park bag I have my phone, first aid kit with bandaids, Neosporin, Advil, Immodium, anti-nausea pills, sunscreen stick, handi-wipes, autograph book and fat pen, kids' ID bracelets, waterproof camera, my wallet, a couple of snacks, our cooling towels. We have an umbrella stroller that is carrying our ponchos and insulated water bottles, and a large black trash bag to put over the stroller when we park it, in case of rain.

We bought some waterproof cell phone carriers that come on lanyards to keep our phones in. So we can actually carry them around our necks if wanted. Got extras for camera and an extra for hubby's wallet for when we go on the water rides. They can be dropped in water and not get wet and are see through so you can even use your phone while it's in the bag. I got them off eBay for around $2 each. I was skeptical so we took papers and put in them and dropped them in our pool, LOL they float back up and no water or moisture got in there :)

We have a double stroller so I have more than one bag. I also bought waterproof drawstring bags off eBay and have 2 I use.
1 will contain the stuff we will have to get into more often and then the other will contain things we might not actually ever need. Everything I divide up into gallon Ziploc bags of course so it all stays dry even if someone forgets to close up the bag.

diapers
baby wipes
autograph books
pen
pacifiers
moleskin
scissors (to cut that moleskin)
band-aids
antibiotic gel
anti itch cream
baby Tylenol
adult Tylenol
blister band-aids (not to be confused with regular ones, LOL)
sunscreen
face sunscreen
pony tail holders
brush (I can't live without a brush at WDW)
pads/panty liners
snacks (Pringles, Goldfish, Animal Crackers)
aluminum water bottles
changes of clothes for youngest two girls
safety pins
juice boxes
a Ziploc bag of Dum Dum suckers to occupy the 4 and under while others are riding rides they can't ride (this is very important, last year I forgot them and had to buy expensive Mickey suckers, LOL)
camera
phone charger
Poncho's (these are stored in a mesh stroller bag that hangs from the handles so they are easy to get to)
sunglasses
baseball caps
portable fans
batteries

Now you see why I usually have 2-3 bags. Thank heavens for that stroller. Hmmm makes me wonder how different it will be once we don't need a stroller!

I'm sure I am forgetting something!

Oh yes the plastic stroller cover in case of rain.

I used to take our itinerary for the day but it's etched in my brain as far as rides go and each morning I take a picture of my dining reservations on my phone with the confirmation number (and email or text it to my hubby's phone so I have it in back up) and I take a picture of all the tickets (there are 10 of us) so I can just look those things up on the phone if needed instead of carrying around papers.

Headed to the world in 6 days!! I don't think I'm ready yet, yikes!

Hubs and I both have camelback backpacks. We take them with us anytime we have a big outing outdoors (zoo, amusement park, etc..). Here is what I keep in mine:
Hat (attached on outside of bag)
Sunscreen
Small First Aid Kit (band aids, Tylenol, antiseptic towelettes, Neosporin)
Hand Sanitizer
Wipes (good even if you don't have a baby..)
Diapers
Snacks (granola bars, cereal bars, crackers, etc..)
Ice Water (in the reservoir.. stays surprisingly cold, even on the hottest of days if you use enough ice!)
Plastic grocery bags (for dirty diapers, dirty clothes, etc..)

Hubs' camelback has
Ice Water
Sunscreen
Snacks

I always have my cross body bag/purse. It stays on me at all times, even on rides. It is my normal, everyday purse, so it has my wallet, keys, sunglasses, phone, lip balm.

Since our son isn't quite 2 yet, we have a stroller with a basket. We pack a large, insulated lunch bag with sandwiches, veggies, yogurts, fruit, etc... for lunch. Honestly, I'm not sure what we'll do without the stroller when DS gets older..

Our DD's are getting older and can carry stuff on their own. We recently went to a MotoGP race and they had their own little backpacks with their own snacks, water bottles, sunglasses, and money. Not sure that it would work well with amusement parks though.. too many bags to keep up with. I don't know, we'll figure it out when we reach that point I guess.

The last time I was at Disney, we just had my purse (not a cross body bag), the diaper bag, a sit n' stand stroller and a bunch of Kroger bags filled with snacks! LOL! I've started to perfect our system over the years since..
