What's in a title anyway? How about 1300 pictures? 4/15/11-> Bonus Section pt1 & 2

Awesome update Rob!!! We love WGP Express. You can't beat the amount of food as well as the quality for a counter service credit on the DDP.

So Kindani it is for October huh??? We stayed in Jambo House but Ventured over to Kindani. Main difference in my eyes is the lobby is not as massive as Jambo House. Pool areas in my eyes is better at Kindani for the kids. I;m glad the resort is growing on you. We REALLY enjoyed our stay there and can't wait to go back, but that will have to be after our Beach Club stay!

haha great ending to day 8! loved every detail! I bet it sucked though:( cant wait to have my own kids and take them! Itll be such a great time im sure.

haha just btw, noticed DS face on dinosaur..was someone a little scared lol

That's good to hear about the kids pool. Everybody else wanted to do Jambo but the studios that they wanted were all booked. I've heard that Kidani was more of a walk to everything but personally, I'll make the hike if the kids have a better time at the pool there. The night vision goggles sound like a lot of fun so that's at the top of my list for things to do there but I'm sure there's going to 100 other things to do once we arrive. Brian and Sean will be flying with us that Saturday and the other 20 or so people will be arriving the next day. Maybe the first night will be a resort night :confused3 Time will tell! :yay:

Yea he doesn't want to give certain rides a chance so when he gets on, he just closes his eyes :lmao: He doesn't object to getting on, he just won't watch....than he tells us how brave he was :rotfl2:

Taking your own kids, especially when they are still young enough to be amazed at Disney things, takes the trip to a whole new level. The first time we went we were hooked, not by what all we did but more because of the kids reactions to what THEY did. I do try to do a lot with the boys whenever we can (and they have done a lot more than many kids around here) but that first trip brought me to tears more than once just watching and playing with them. Being a dad is great. Being a dad at Disney is amazing.

As always, Great Update!! :thumbsup2

Now.... if I could just finish my TR up!! only one day left and its NYE and the best day!! I've just got to find time!! :confused3

Thank you for the compliment and I do appreciate the stragglers who have stuck around to see the end of this thing very much:thumbsup2

Remember back when you first started your TR? Remember how much time we had back then? Was it just me or did it seem like we would just fly right through them? It's funny because until you actually do your own, you really don't know how time consuming they really are! Like I said before, if I wasn't able to work on this during my free time at work, there's just no way I would have even been able to start!

Again, thanks for sticking around and I hope to wrap this thing up VERY soon.

Great update and as always fantastic pictures.

Love the water art of Simba, so cool. Hope we find another CM this year doing one :teeth:

So sad that your TR is nearly over, but not long til October and some Halloween madness :teeth:

Those CM's really are talented aren't they? I just feel bad whenever I come across one of the drawings and there isn't any CM standing around to take the credit that they deserve.

As for the rest of the TR, believe it or not I started it last night! Just like actually being there, I don't like the last day. It's just sad:sad1:
The one thing that is making it a little easier is knowing that we will be back in 29 days:dance3:

I definitely agree that the night vison goggles should be at the top of your list to do! I think you are going to be happy with Kindani. Where we were there they were actually in the process of building a walkway between Jambo House and Kindani. The pool does seem a little far away but looking amazing. Honestly though, depending where your room is in Jambo House Your walk to the pool could be 20 minutes. We got lucky and were given and awesome room location.

It's been fun following along! And I've loved all your photos!
Ya... when I started my TR it was before I went back to my full time job!!
Now I'm up at 5:15 am and home at 3:30. Changing hats to my 2nd job of my hair salon in the basement and usually with clients til 8:30 pm or so!!
I started my TR when I had lots of time on my hands!! My full time job goes til about mid July and then I'll have lots of time again!!! This willl be me catching up : :surfweb: :lmao:

Hopefully, I'll find some time on the weekends to get through my one more day! But I still need time to keep up with those I've subscribed to too!! :3dglasses

Have a good weekend!!
This weekend I've got to get the taxes organized to take to the accountant!!
:rolleyes1

Yes!!! I made it before you're done:banana: I'm one of the "lurkers" hahaha I caught your first TR (way past when you were done :confused3) but I loved it, and was so happy to see you do another. Great pictures! Hopefully there will be a May TR! :rolleyes1

Like I was telling Tina and them before, I don't mind the extra walking, even at the end of a long day, if the boys will enjoy it down there a little more. I've been looking up pictures of the pool down there and it really looks like it's going to be a great time hanging out down there. Hopefully one day I'll stumble across a wordless trip report that might include some pictures of Kidani *hint hint* :rolleyes1

The last day is the WORST to work on! I actually started it last week on Monday and have gone back to add more several times since. Every time I get sidetracked with all kinds of different things. I honestly think I subconsciously delayed writing it because I didn't want to re-live the memory of leaving that day. BUT, it's been a week and a half later now, and I might just be ready to share:thumbsup2
I have been following along with your trip report! And i am going in May too but still have 39 days:goodvibes

People think I'm nuts when they hear it, but I am honestly so excited for you:cool1: I know you'll have a great time down there! Send me a PM if you start up a Trip Report of your own!

That really means a lot. I've been going back and forth on whether or not I want to do a TR for this next trip. So far, I still haven't made up my mind. Our summers are usually super busy and any free time we get we use on our little boat and go crabbing. Work has been a little funny lately so I might just see how things play out before I start another. I have a feeling that when it's time to make the decision, I'll probably end up flipping a coin to see if I should do it:lmao: I'm 99% sure that there will be one for the October trip. The question is, can I go that long without one?

So, this last update was tough to work on but it's FINALLY finished. I started it last week and thought it was going to be up on Monday or maybe Tuesday. Some of the comments in it are a week old so I need to do a quick proof-read and tweak it a little. There should be something up in just a little bit if anyone wants to get one more update in. Also, I have a few bonus pics I'm going to post after that's done.

The question is, is anybody still out there that remembers this report? :confused3

Thanks for the heads up, I'm going to go check out your report in a few minutes. Sorry about the delay. I lost my internet connection last night while I started making my tweaks to the beginning of the update. Than work ran a little late so I passed out as soon as I walked in the door. Working on it as we speak:thumbsup2

Thank you, you're too kind. Here it comes.....

For every family visiting Disney World, there is one day that no one wants to talk about. It’s the one day that you dread the whole time you are there no matter how long your vacation was, or how old you are, where you came from, or even how the rest of the week went. Your kids could have had extreme meltdowns during the week or the maybe it rained for every single day you were there, right now you’d gladly go back in time to any day but this one. On this day the weather could be absolutely perfect, birds could be singing, and everyone around you could be smiling but it wouldn’t help. Because no matter how happy everyone else is, inside you wake up crying. It might not be visible to those around you, but when you opened that first dresser drawer this morning to pull your stuff out, you knew what was about to happen.

Saturday November 20th.

Day 9.
Our final day.

Last night when we got back to our room, Tina came in and started getting a lot of things packed up so we wouldn’t have to be rushing around. I on the other hand went out with my camera and tripod to get some night pictures around the Beach Club which I will post later. This morning I rolled out of bed around 7 and went around and gathered my things pretty quickly and grabbed the camera to capture what would be the last few shots we would have for quite some time from our balcony.

We cleaned out the left over groceries from the fridge and tried to find someone walking in the hallways who might want the drinks we had left but to no avail. I spoke with the cleaning people and they told me that they would take everything back to their lounge for the rest of the CM’s to enjoy which I was more than fine with. I just didn’t want it all to go to waste. Bell services came up for our luggage and we headed out.
Every few minutes I snapped a picture here and there. I’m glad you can’t see me behind the lens because I’d hate to post a single picture from Disney World with me having tears in my eyes.

By now it’s just after 10am. This picture still kills me to look at it. Granted to anyone else, it’s just a picture of a door but to me this was the last time we would walk out that door for a long long time.

All week long the boys had wanted a picture next to the butterfly bush out back but all week long we were either in a rush for something or people were sitting in front of it. I moved the bench so the boys could stand in front for an unobstructed view. Just as I was getting ready to snap the picture, a very nice couple offered to take the picture for me so I could get in it with them and Tina.
DSC_3727.jpg

That was the first time someone has ever done that for me in Disney World and I really appreciated it. I’ve done it more times than I could count for other people but I guess the big camera intimidates people or something.

So we walked down past Storm Along Bay and made a left, sorta kinda in a rush but dragging our feet at the same time. By this time not only were we tired from all the walking all week, but we were also just so sad to leave. I did another one of my “last looks around” and tried to burn it all to memory.

I can’t tell you how much I envied that father and son at that very moment. Granted, I didn’t know anything about them, but in my mind they were in the middle of a 2 week vacation and just wanted to spend some quality time together. With all the cool and fun things going on all around them that they could be doing right then and there, nothing would have meant more than what they had going on.

Either that, or the kid was in trouble for something :lmao:

If you’ve ever wondered just how the beaches look so perfect in the morning, feel free to thank this lady here…..

Continuing on, we headed toward the International Gateway….

I stepped closer to the sign to catch the reflection a little better. I was going to use this as my opening picture but after watching the Phillies play the way that they have, I think I made the right call….
DSC_3751.jpg

Yea, I know it’s the Yacht Club, not our Beach House, but it still makes me a little homesick.

The guys were out cleaning the lake…

I told myself that this was a beautiful day to fly, but honestly it would have been a beautiful day to stay even longer.

I told the boys how lucky they were that Mommom Ginny was nice enough to bring them here so they both went over and gave her a hug and thanked her. It really was sweet and she instantly burst into tears. I gave her a minute before I tried for an embarrassing shot.
DSC_3773.jpg

She really is the best mom I could ever have hoped for and I really meant it when I told the boys that it was because of her that we were there. I never would have been able to afford to stay at the Beach Club nor would I have ever considered it on my own. Before she brought us there for the fist time using her DVC points, we always went to the Jersey Shore and that was it. It was the first trip she took us on that completely turned us into Dis-heads. 3 years later and I still thank her for it.

Here I am, rambling again and I know that’s not whatcha came here for is it? Here’s some more pictures of our walk to ease your appetite a little bit….

The boys wanted to head over to Innovetions for a bit so I took everybody’s room key and told them I’d be right back. I ran over to grab everybody a fastpass for later….
DSC_3796.jpg

I mean, what better way to end a trip in Epcot than to make Soarin your last ride right?
So I quickly left there and headed back to go meet up with everybody.

DSC_3800.jpg

The kids were all having fun playing with everything they could possibly get their hands on. I could be wrong, but I think they may have done the piggy bank adventure while I was gone but I’m not 100% on that.

DSC_3804.jpg

My boys were begging to go see the fire truck and run through the burning house. So we have them a minute or two to themselves.

DSC_3806.jpg

DSC_3809.jpg

We left there and went across the way to the other Innoventions, I had one more thing I really had always wanted to try out but never got the chance…..
