Whats happening with American Airlines?

I am considering booking our airline tickets with American Airlines for our November trip to WDW (Nov 1) but due to the bankrupsey situation I don't know if I should buy the tickets now (they just went down $25) or wait and see what happens with the bankrupsey.

With these raising prices on airline tickets should I try to see if these tickets go on sale on 4-3mths prior? or purchase these tickets now?

I don't know what to do. Please HELP .

American has not declared bankruptcy yet and they have a good chances that they may be able to avoid it. They have embarked on numerous cost cutting measures of late and got substantial concessions from their unions. Even if for some reason they did have to declare bankruptcy, they will restructure and continue flying just like United and USAir are doing.

If you feel the tickets are a good price, I wouldn't hesitate buying them because of American's potential issues with bankruptcy, if and when it does happen, they will still continue to fly. They are the largest airline in the world right now.

Thanks sgtdisney. I had my DH read what you said due to he didn't want me to buy airline tickets with American right now due to the bankrupsey. Of course nowing my luck the airline tickets went back up to the regular high price . Looks like I have wait anyway to purchase airline tickets.
