Whats happening at Poly

Was waiting for the 7 month window to book a 5 night stay at the Poly at the end of Aug.

It had full availability up until today and every room. Studio and Bungalow has been booked from mid Aug thru mid Sept.

Anyone have any ideas what it could be, Is it VIP's for grand opening? Because I can't see them taking every room for the renovation. was only a few days away from being able to book it im a bit peeved.

Not sure but I believe that Poly is undergoing a soft goods rehab in 2021 which means they will take large blocks of rooms out of service while they figure out the exact schedule,

Since this was 7 months, and DVC owns Poly points, they could indeed have used the home advance to book some of those rooms like any other owner,

However, if you saw a months worth of rooms disappear, I’d say it’s service related. I believe it was mentioned a a few months back it happened in the May/June timeframe and then after a week or so, things were back

Probably holding some for refurb. Many would have already been booked within the appropriate booking windows for those dates, so it is not as though Disney blocked all DVC, just those available as of a few days ago.

When you checked you saw that at least one unit in each category was available but cannot tell how many it was.

Which does suggest they pulled whatever was still there, as they consider refurbishment

As mentioned, when you see things online, you have no idea how many rooms there are...whether is is one or 50, it looks the same,

Just keep an eye out,..if they were pulled to work out a rehab schedule, some might show back up when they know exactly how many for what days,

Better to prevent booking for non home resort owners to start and release later.

I booked 5 nights at the Poly for a mid-August stay two weeks ago on my 7 month day. At that point there was availability for pretty much the entire month of August. Standard and Lake View. Must have gone fast in the past two weeks. Also to consider, the seasons change August 16, dropping the # of points required by 2-3 points per night. If people are looking for a better deal, they are going 7 months from August 16th on forward.

I just hope I don’t get notified that my room won’t be available. Maybe just a glitch in the system and they will be back soon. Poly has rooms almost every day from Feb until the outage so I can’t imagine it’s from regular bookings.

Thanks. You are probably right. Just paranoid after having to cancel same week last year. Gives me something positive to look forward to.

Yes, Poly was wide open in August, we booked 2 studios for the 16th to the 23rd with no problem.

I would suggest a wait-list, because the rooms could "pop back" at any moment on the RAT, because it could be just a System Issue.

This stinks. My 7 month window opens on Monday. I've been checking daily and like you said it was wide open all of August and September. I guess I better come up with another plan

I was dreading looking myself after seeing this post. We have a tripped planned 9/10-9/18 and was hoping to switch at our 7 month as well to Poly to stay for the first time. Figured this whole time we had a good chance with smaller crowds and all the work being done. Still have a couple weeks until the 7 month window so we're hoping previous commenters are right about them releasing some rooms back into the system around the refurb. Fingers crossed for everyone!

Yes, we were waiting for our 7 month window to try and book August 30- September 8. Watching for a while, and it was wide open, and then bam everything gone for a month. Even bungalows. But interesting enough we were able to get beach club, which never happens. So sad for Poly, but super excited to finally try beach club.

Just an update to this thread. I got an e-mail today saying that due to the refurb work I am being moved to a lagoon view hotel room at Poly. Anyone else get bumped? Any suggestions about which rooms to request? If I am bump from a DVC room to a hotel room will they guarantee me a room with a balcony or patio? I understand the 2nd floor rooms have no balcony.

Any suggestions about which rooms to request? If I am bump from a DVC room to a hotel room will they guarantee me a room with a balcony or patio? I understand the 2nd floor rooms have no balcony.

I am so worried now that I will be moved. We are there from 9/6-9/12 but no word from Disney yet...

8/25 to 8/29 for my stay

The 6 week block they took out was mid August until 2nd week of Sept but the timing may have changed since then.
