I'm feeling adventurous....I want to try something new this trip. I've never eaten anywhere in Morocco so I think maybe I'll start by trying the counter service. I know this place has many fans. What is your favorite food here?

We've eaten everything on the menu and it's all good. We especially enjoy the chicken and the taboleuh (sp?) wrap.

we got the chicken and lamb swarmaha platter and it was great except for the hummus which i dislike anywhere at anytime..that with a dessert was enough for my husband and i to split.

Chicken shawarma is yummy and their tabouleh is oh so good also.
I'm not a big fan of their bread so I would not order the sandwiches, I would stick to their meals. But then again I'm sure that's a personal preference.
If you haven't had lamb before probably won't recommend it, since lamb has a particular lamb-ish taste (i don't know how else to explain it). Some people like it, some people don't. I do... :teeth:
But overall the place is excellent.

You can not go wrong. Everything is excellent , we eat there as often as possible!

I know I am showing my ignorance here, but here goes.... what is shawrama (sp), and taboulah(sp)? We are thinking of trying this place, to be adventorus, which I never am with food, but I have no idea what these things are!!! LOL!!! TIA!! :maleficen

if you ever had a gyro it is kind of similar, never made it personally but i would think they marinate the meat and grill it. tabbouleh is sort of a cross between a chopped salad and salsa with tomatos and i think onions and mint...again guessing the ingredients since i was to busy eating to pick it apart (lol) it is very good anyway and not weird. hummus is kind of like thick bean dip with lots of garlic. couscous is kind of like tiny little pasta grains... yummy

Showing mine too.........I'd also like to know what exactly these dishes are made of.

Yum. I love gyro's! I know they are made with lamb and beef too, I think. Thanks for these details.

Do they have samples of the dishes on display anywhere for customers to see before they order?

Are there any pepper like things? I hate peppers. And olives too.

I looooovvvve hummus though. My husband calls it dirt. I won't be sharing.

Everything is good!

Yes, if I remember right, they do have platters and pictures out for you to see, plus they are great at explaining things to you.

DH and I split the chicken and lamb schwarma platter - I LOVED the lamb, DH prefered the chicken so it worked out great!

My mom had the vegetarian platter and it was DELICIOUS and I was jealous I didn't get that instead ;)

Hey! We'll be there during the time that you are: Sept 17th-24th. The lamb/chicken swarma platter is very good! It has the marinated chicken, marinated lamb, Morrocan bread, couscous, tabbouleh, and hummus. Hummus is like a really thick dip made of blended chick peas and seasonings, tabbouleh is sort of like a dry salsa with tomatoes, onions, seasonings, and I'm not for sure if it's mint or cilantro, but to me it tasted more like cilantro, couscous is little grains with vegetables in it. The whole platter is only like $10.00 and is really good. They're also supposed to have good desserts, but I didn't get a chance to try any of those.

I wanted to go there again for my trip next month, but my son and D-I-L are afraid to try it. If I can sneak away from them, I intend to run over there. As you walk down the line to the cash register to order, there was a glass case with platters made up, so you could see what you would be ordering.

Another vote that all of the dishes served on the Shwarma platter were delicious. I am not sure what they all were, since, they seemed to be different from the ones on the sign the particular day we went. Even my 6yo
son prefered the lamb on my plate to the hamburger that we had ordered for him. The hamburger was good, too, he just preferred what I had on my plate.

I don't believe that there are any pepper or olive things since I despise both and love their food. Their food is SO good!

My favorite is the Tabbouleh Wrap. Tabbouleh is a salad made of bulghar (cracked wheat) cukes, tomatoes, oniions, parsley, garlic, mint & lemon. I make this all the time at home & Tangerine's is pretty authentic & like I make at home. I eat there once a trip easily, just for the Tabbouleh wrap :cloud9:

I always say I'm going to try the other dishes, but I just never seem too. I appreciate the chance to have a really good meatless CS meal.

My favorite is the vegetarian platter. It includes couscous, tabbouleh, hummus, olive salad, and bread. I also like the tabbouleh wrap.

*drooool* reading this thread is making me so hungry for Greek food. What's a girl to do when she's slavering for hummus at 8:30 in the morning?

So...give it to me straight: the pita bread. Any good? So many places will serve you this thin little piece of cardboard and call it pita bread. Is theirs served thick, warm and chewy or tasteless variety?

Mmmm, so many people do Spanish-Moroccan Tapas now. Wouldn't it be neat if they offered that?
