What's Free At Disneylan?

I have asked the CM helping us off the boat before or walked up to that little hut thing on the left (as you exit) and asked one of the CMs in there. :thumbsup2

And they just give you a free map? I am timid by nature and am always afraid to do stuff like this in case they look at me like I am crazy and don't know what I am talking about. :confused3

you get a free smile from a Cast Member. Doesnt that make it all good! :D

I personally like to collect the free things like napkins or fastpasses. I like the really cheap souvenirs.

Another free thing is the character you can draw at the animation academy in DCA Animation building. It depends on how much you like your drawing but still a fun souvenir

I love the jungle cruise and had no idea about the maps. I definitely need to check that out (hopefully I remember)

Is there anywhere you can get a free soda refill?

You can get free refills at Rancho del Zocalo, Redd Rocket's Pizza Port, the Plaza Inn, and the French Market in Disneyland. Its only on the same visit as mentioned before.

:rotfl::rotfl:

I was wondering if someone would mention something along those lines. "free magic" (of course, its really included in the cost of admission)

Where can I get a birthday button? I missed getting one last year, cause I didnt know where to get one! :(

You can also get the buttons at some of the stores. Just ask a CM who works there and they will give you one. We've gotten them at the Emporium before and also the little store next to IASW. The line at City Hall is usually longer than I want to wait for a button but if you go there I believe there is a special phone message waiting for you to wish you a happy birthday. :)

Yes! They will go over to the little area to the left of the exit. They have filing cabinets back there with the maps. They may look at you like you are crazy if they don't know about them. One CM had to ask another CM one time when I asked - he didn't know what I was talking about.

You can also get them at Guest Services. We did that while we were waiting for the parks to open.

We had to ask 3 seperate times to get a JC map. They really did look at us like we were crazy one CM said she had no idea what I was talking about but I should ask at city hall. Another said they don't give those out anymore. But the third time was the charm lol and they pulled it out of the filing cabinet in the hut as you exit :goodvibes

Now this one IDK if they do anymore but last year we got a death certificate at the HM. I will ask today :goodvibes last April they had them. But over the summer they told us each time they were out and not sure if they would get anymore. Maybe it was because they were so busy? So we stopped asking. But I will try again :confused3

Oooh, let us know. I would LOVE a death certificate from HM. And I will have my son ask at Jungle Cruise. It is his favorite ride, and he doesn't get embarrased like I do.

You can also get free coffee refills (same day only) at the coffee shop on Main Street. It's on your right about halfway down. :)

Same with the Boudin sourdough factory.

One time they actually gave me a whole loaf (I think it was even a Mickey loaf) in the exhibit. One of the bakers gave them out to a few of the guests in there at the time... I don't know why, but it was nice to get and tasted fine!

Free ice water at any of the counter service restaurants...

At Cafe Orleans we got free a birthday beignet (sp) just because it was my birthday!

Several posters have mentioned free coffee refills but something we started doing this winter was getting free hot water. You think, what am I going to do with free hot water? Make hot tea of course! I bring along my own tea bags and when it's cold we make our own tea. Saves $2.69 each, which is great.

Last year we did this at River Belle Terrace while waiting for the holiday fireworks to start. We got our free hot waters and desserts and it was a nice, warm way, to wait. ;)

You could also bring along your own hot choc. mix or even soup.

Don't worry about the CMs thinking you are cheap either. They are very friendly when you do this and even though I usually wait in line to get the hot water they always tell me I can just go to the front of the line to get my water (hot or cold) In fact, it was a CM who first told me about the free hot waters. :goodvibes

Any food place that has hot water will do this for you. (I.E. River Belle, The Bakery, Bakersfield Bakery, Plaza Inn, etc.)

Also, if your kid does the Jedi Training Academy they will get a certificate of completion.

At the Drawn to the Magic Show at DCA, if your child is lucky enough to be brought on stage (3 per show) they will get to keep the drawing that is done on stage and then after the show they can have it signed by the character.

Here's DD10 with hers from Jan.

Sorry, didn't get a picture of the front of the drawing.

Afterwards you can take the drawing over to the store across the street and they will wrapped it up all nice and neat for you to carry.

Oh, and if you are lucky enough to get to ride in the Pilots Wheel House on the Mark Train they may give you a Pilot's Certificate too.

Of course, your kids can dance along, for free, in the CELEBRATE parade/show.

Good to know about them wrapping up the drawing - DD was chosen last November and it was really awkward trying to carry it around the rest of the day.

Also didn't know about the certificate for the Lilly Belle - we didn't get one last year! :sad1:

The pilot wrote it out very quickly. He got DD's name from the book we signed and gave it to her just before we exited.I don't think they do it for everyone.

And oops, I meant the Mark Twain (boat) not the train.

Are the napkins different at the different restaurants? I cannot remember. I am trying to think of some different, inexpensive or free, items that my DS7 can collect for his scavenger hunt.

The paper napkins are all the same. They do different ones at certain times (like Christmas) but other than that all the same. I think they now all say "Disney Parks" on them too. I can look at some of the ones I have from last visit.

If I paid for a PH, is anything really free in the park. My wallet always seems much lighter when I get back.

well on 3/18 we went twice on HM once in the morning and asked a CM for a death certificate. We were curtly told they never heard of them :(
we went again around 10:30 pm and were told by a different CM that they were out, I pointed outa previous CM said they never heard of them, this CM said they didn't know; but did know they were out and had no idea when they would get more. :(
this is what we went thru last year before we got one we were even told at one point they were redesigning them. So IDK it just must be certain CMs that are in the know :confused3

but we did get a JC map first try and flour tortillas twice :wizard:

I also forget to ask about both the death certificate and the JC map! :headache: I have to remember these things next time! What CMs have you been asking for a certificate at HM?

I have only had luck with the first CM at the mansion. I once asked the loading CM and they were not very happy or maybe that was
the personna they were trying to portray! Lol
