What's for dinner? Was it "budget"?

That's great that he tried! I have severe reflux so I know the feeling of the churning stomach! Our church planned it out so that the middle school kids fasted from 6pm Friday night to 6 pm Saturday night. A good portion of the fasting was during sleeping hours. I know my DS was happy to have some food in his belly come 6 pm last night!

Yeah, I thought that doing the fast during school hours would be hard, because you have to go to lunch. Very tempting for the kids. Several churches organized the event. A lot of work went into it, I hate that it got canceled. Good for your son! That takes a lot of dedication and willpower to fast any time. Kat

so understand that!! good to "see" you back!!

Thanks!

It was BBQ tonight (9.00 total for meat, buns, and bbq sauce) and mac and cheese (4.00) because DH wanted it homemade with veleveeta. We ate and have enough for at least two more lunches. DD will use some of the remaining buns for school. She loves tuna on buns because of "no crust!"

We have had leftovers two nights in a row. . . healthy and way cheap. . . DH and I fought the temptation to get take out. . .

Had 2 lbs of Italian sausage marked down to 50 cents a lb due to today being the day before the freshness date.

Sauteed up with 1 big onion and big pepper....Meat was rinsed to lower the fat. Cost at our local market 75 cents

1 can tomatoes along with about 2 jars store bought sauce about 2.50

1 lb of whole wheat pasta....1 dollar.
Touch of romano lets say 5 cents

4.80 to feed me and my wife for 3 meals. This is great as leftovers

Happy Monday! :)

Tonight I'm going to grill steaks. I got a great deal on them they were reg. $10, I got them on sale for $5. Yea! I have them marinading now. We'll have steamed broccoli and cauliflower. Both veggies were reasonable. Not sure of the sauces for them yet.

What about you guys?

Tonight is pulled bbq pork sandwiches..

Pork $3.00
Bbq $1.00
Rolls - Leftover
Broccoli $1.25
Salad $1.00

$6.25 and will have left-over pork - (over bread though since the rolls will be used up)

Tonight I am making. . .

Ground Turkey: ~$3 with spices/peppers/onions/garlic
Tomato Sauce: $1.50
Cheese Ravioli: $3
Drinks: $0.50

Total: $8 (BUT I am 99% the ground Turkey may be too much, so will likely use 1/2 for this meal and freeze the other 1/2 for another meal :) )

Tonight we are having roasted chicken drumsticks (just going to throw them in a pan with some butter, seasonings, and a little lemon juice and bake 'em), mashed potato cakes (with last night's leftover mashed potatoes), and a veggie... maybe corn.

I have been doing laundry :laundy: and spring cleaning today so I am tooooo tired to worry about cooking anything too fancy.

No budget today. We're going to Animal Kingdom and I wanna try out Yak and Yeti!!! woohoo!!!

But tomorrow, we'll be back to the budget. :(

Oh, you lucky ducks!!! Have a great time! Let us know how you like it. :) :goodvibes

Cool tread, I haven't read all of it, but am amazed at how you all itemize things by price!! I have no idea what I spend per meal!

Tonight we are having Broiled Scallops, wild rice and spring green salad with chopped walnuts and feta cheese (my favorite!). French bread on the side because my son loves that stuff!!

I don't know how to itemize it though since we bought a 3 pound bag of Scallops at Sams??

Tonight is not budget but we are having steaks, salad and baked potatoes. Waiting for hubby and kids to get home so I can start the grill, daughter is at cheer practice and son and hubby at baseball practice.

finally getting to the chicken parm.....smells yummy:goodvibes

chicken: about $2
sauce: 50 cents

the other stuff maybe a dollar more....so just under $4 for a good dinner.

So, how was Yak and Yeti?!! :) I'd like to try it the next time we go!

Tonight we're having meatloaf, yellow squash, and green beans. Maybe jello for dessert.

Yes, how was Yak and Yeti? Would love a review, maybe even some pictures! :thumbsup2

Tonight at our house will be Manwiches. Fries or chips as a side, cole slaw, and probably some canned fruit.

Nowhere near as much fun as Animal Kingdom... sigh... :sad2:

last night was grilled cheese and tomato soup. Cheap enough!

Tonight is God Knows What. :rotfl: seriously, I haven't planned anything yet. it's a busy night, so we might have the chicken ranch sandwiches I bought from the Market Day clearance!

I am so glad somebody else has those days:rotfl:

I am thinking it will be something simple as the 4 pot chicken parm is three pots more than I usually use.:rotfl:
