hi ladies...:goodvibes
I have been lurking for quite some time after a long hiatus away..and i just want to say that recipes i have been seeing lately look amazing!!!!!
If its ok with everyone..i would love to contribute!

WFD tonight:
nothing too exciting, turkey burgers topped with avocado, prov. cheese and red onion..i think i will serve it with a salad and curly baked fries..mmmmm
I would love to try the greek tkey burger recipe i just read sometime..sounds great!!:thumbsup2

Hi Gina! I missed you. Are you coming down with something too?

 Hi Everyone!

WFD- tonight we order pizza! I have nothing in the house and it is our last official day of vacation.

I did not do any food porn from our trip. We spent day 3 of our vacation at Celebration Hospital. Luke had a 102 fever, it ended up being a double ear infection. Needless to say, we did not push him the remainder of our trip.

There is not much worse than being sick on vacation. Poor kid! I'm glad that your parents enjoyed the trip and hope your son is better.

I will be having tomato soup, I have the flu and it is hard to eat or swallow with this sore throat.

Tylenol has a sore throat syrup that I use. It is really just liquid acetaminophen but it helps. Hope you feel better soon.

Lauren Loves  Curried Sweet Potatoes!

Me too.....Me too....Me too!

Kathy does too.....

:thumbsup2

DH noticed the difference & said it was one of the best.

Your dinner looked great! The only time Buddy really says much about the food is when he is petrified that I will make something that he hates again. Then he gets out the trusty rating system :rotfl: The poor guy was rating the raspberry balsamic chicken the other night before I even cooked it :lmao: so I decided to save it for the next time I'm in a snit. And if he doesn't go back to work soon he'll get to rate it sooner rather than later :thumbsup2

Hope everyone is doing ok. I've been super busy with the kids school play, but after Saturday it's all over, and I can relax again!

I don't think I can remember a time when you were not busy with the kids. I get tired when I just hear about your day so I don't know when you relax :confused3

Oh, I am so sorry that this happened to your son! Why is it that the kiddos always get sick at Disney?? (and the grownups for that matter...I always come back from Disney SICK!)

hi ladies...:goodvibes

Hey, welcome back! As you should know, anyone and everyone can post here! I'm thinking about making those turkey burgers tomorrow night too...the greek ones. I have stuff in to make hummus and stuff to go with...we'll see!

I will be having tomato soup, I have the flu and it is hard to eat or swallow with this sore throat.

I hope you feel better really soon! Guess what I made for dinner tonight?

This is a really simple tomato soup, just a little butter, an onion, some chicken stock and canned tomatoes, plus salt, pepper, and a pinch of sugar all blended together. The green stuff is spinach--I sauteed a huge handful of it seperately, then chopped it and added it into the soup with a glug of cream at the very end. Since you have a sore throat, you have to ignore the sandwich to the right, but for everyone else, that is a grilled sharp cheddar/aged gouda sandwich on anadama bread. There's fruit chutney on the sandwich too. Yum!

grownups for that matter...I always come back from Disney SICK!)

That is exactly what happened! Now Luke and I both have colds too.
All of you DISers are so sweet.

WFD- I think I have stuff in my pantry to throw together a minestrone soup.

We absolutely loved Yak & Yeti, my DH also thought it was the best meal of the trip. We had Wok-Fried Green Beans with sweet Thai chili dipping sauce. These were absolutely wonderful, and the sauce oh my goodness..yummy! My entree was Duck with Anandapur Glaze served with jasmine rice, and stir-fried vegetables. The duck was so moist and the skin was crisp, just perfect! The glaze was an orange wasabi with a nice kick.
DH had the Tempura Shrimp - chili plum sauce, coconut-ginger rice, stir fried vegetables. He cleaned his plate and kept commenting how he enjoyed it, especially the rice. We ended the evening by sharing the Fried Wontons - Skewers of fresh pineapple and cream cheese wontons, vanilla ice cream, honey vanilla drizzle. DH commented he definitely wants to return here on our next vacation in the fall.

Other trip highlights included the Pomegranate Barbecued Pork Chop served on pan-roasted fingerling potatoes and applewood smoked bacon braised Swiss chard, and the Duck confit and mussels from LeCellier.

Good Morning,
Dinner tonight is that leftover Cream of Mushroom Pot Roast we had the other night. I feel a big lunch coming on!!
I'll be back on Monday, hope everyone has a great weekend

Sheryl, Becky and Laura, Great pics! Yum!

Ann, Thanks for the review...I hope you guys feel better.

Becky, Can you post your recipe for hummus? We have been snacking alot on the store made stuff but I would love to try and make it.

We are having pot roast (its marinating in my Mom's marinade now), potato dumplings (I found this old recipe from my Mom) and braised red cabbage. I may make a few carrots for Andrew. He doesn't like red cabbage.

Its very chilly here today and we have the guys coming to install a new garage door. Brrrr, guess I'll be offering coffee, tea and hot cocoa all day. :)

Have a great day all!

Hey you guys. I'm alive. I'm on late because...

Today is my anniversary!!!!
:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

So we slept in, hee hee hee.

Today we are going to T.G.I. Friday's to have a Jack Daniel's steak. A-woo-hoo!!! Later we are coming home, watching a WDW planning video, and calling to make our reservations. Cool day, eh?

WFD at your house?

Happy Anniversary Lindsay and Scott!

So, I have to share...I have a bunch of characters coming here to do work...so the garage door comes and I ask his name. He says "Gorgeous Joe"! :rotfl: I told him I have an ex named Joe and he thinks he a comedian too! Only me.

Happy Anniversay Lindsay! Sounds like a great day! We just received the new planning DVD in the mail last week. The boys sat & watched the WHOLE thing in one sitting! The rest of the day was filled with..."can we go back on this?", "will I be tall enough to ride that?", "hey, that was fun - I want to do that again", "can we spend the whole summer there?" :upsidedow

WFD..probably baked parmesan tilapia & Kathy's lemon spaghetti.

Laura, Great idea to get the stuffed shell taste without out the work!:thumbsup2 Did the kids eat it, with the ricotta in there?

Becky, How you can turn tomato soup & a grilled cheese sandwich into a gourmet meal is just fabulous!!!! You really have a gift!:goodvibes

Nancy, Buddy had better tread carefully. The capers might have to come out of the pantry again! :lmao:

I have lots of Tuscan Beans leftover, so I don't know if I'll cook tonight or not. Probably depends on how frustrated I get with my closet cleaning/organizing project!

Lauren, That sound like quite a crew you have there this morning! The garage door is on our list too. I'm dreading getting prices on that! We have a very large double door, so I'm sure it's going to be pricey. And it just not much fun to change a garage door.

Happy Anniversary Lindsay and Scott!!!!!

Sorry I've missed everyone else, I just wanted to do a quick post to let everyone know I'm alive. We're just swamped right now at work and I don't have time to breathe, much less Dis. I hope to catch up on everyone this weekend.

Sorry.

Yeah, Home Depot was having a sale so we jumped at it. We have a pretty basic door but I forgot to take a before pic...I will take an after. I cannot even remember what type of door we chose. All I care about is that its insulated. I must have thin blood, I am always freezing.

:wave2:

No need to be sorry...I have been thinking of you. I know this is your crazy busy time, just stop in when you can.

I relax during the hours of 5 am and 7 am when I'm the only one in my house awake!!! After that, chaos reigns supreme!
