:lovestruc Happy Valentine's Day!:lovestruc

DH, for some reason, almost always remembers Vday. I'm not sure why because he almost never gets me a Christmas, birthday or Mother's day present. Maybe it's because our first "date" was on Vday (17 years ago). Today he gave me a box of (really good, locally made) chocolates.

Hi Angel ~ My name is Sandy (37) and I'm a SAHM to one 12 year old boy, Brendan. DH-Scott (37) is a Sheriff's Deputy Corrections Officer and also owns a lawn care business with his brother. DH and I used to live in western NY before we moved to FL 12 years ago. Moving here was the best thing I've ever done, I LOVE living here. We usually go to Disney World about once a year. This year we're going on our 3rd DCL cruise (can't wait).
I love to cook and watch Food Network too. I think my favorite FN celeb right now is Paula Deen.

DF and I LOVE sushi. I've been wanting to try making it at home.
DS and I made sushi (for the first time) last summer. Nothing fancy, just cucumber, avocado, and krab rolls. I was surprised how good they turned out. I used Alton Brown's sushi rice recipe.

WFD? Cheese ravioli with meatballs and broccoli. I would be fine with just the ravioli, but DH doesn't think it's a meal unless there's meat.

You are all killing me tonight! :rotfl2: It sounds like most of our husbands need to enter some kind of Gift Giving for Dummies program. One year for Christmas, Greg gave me a book called "The Ultimate Guide to Gargoyles" and even though my response was clearly withering, the next year he gave me the same book, but this time on Leprechauns! He has also given me as presents movies he wanted and cookbooks for food he wants to eat.

Nancy, I know that intersection in Boston. :rotfl: Here is a bad Greg story of driving in Boston: I was eight months pregnant with Liam, and Greg was driving us out of the city back to the South Shore. There were two lanes of traffic merging to get on the Expressway (believe me, there is absolutely nothing express about this road!) and there was a big tractor trailer next to us. Well, Greg decides that the truck wasn't taking its proper place in the merge (okay, it wasn't...but hello! Really big truck vs little tiny Camry = not a win for the Camry) and he tried to gun past it and force it to stop to let him go. (Did I mention I was eight months pregnant??) Of course, the truck didn't stop, and luckily for Greg, for his foolishness, the truck only took off his driver's side mirror. :scared1:

Caili took most of the leftover chicken (after saying she didn't want any, but once she saw it she did) so my dinner was the leftover turnips, potato pancakes and cauliflower casserole. I may need to break into the tortilla chips later. I have a couple brands to choose from.

Laura I'm glad Caili has found her appetite. Don't forget to add some of that cheese for your chips.

My neighbor brought me some chocolate which is what I'm having for an appetitizer. Nice neighors I'll have to do something nice for them.

My neighbor son goes to NIU but luckily or unluckily he was playing hokey today. You don't know if you should hug him cause he is safe or choke him for skipping class.

:rotfl2::rotfl2:I got an Easter Card that said "Wish you were here" Think he read it???????

:rotfl: :rotfl: Nancy, I'm still laughing about this and cannot wait to tell my MIL. Kenny's step-dad is notorious for bad gifts, no gifts, etc. And my MIL is the easiest person in the world to please so I don't get it at all. Really and truly, the card means more to her than the gift.

And BTW - I love your stories. Really I do.

Hey! I got a necklace for Valentines. Its really nice...its a long silver chain with a pendant. If you hit the middle of the pendant, it calls the police!!!! Yes, my husband ordered me a panic button!!!!! :scared1:

:lmao: :lmao: Oh My Dear Lord! You win the prize for the "best" gift of the day!

I just pulled out some disney glow cubes so we can put them in our cocktails later. I think we are going to do cosmos.

Hailey loves those. So much that I found them online and ordered like 4 dozen. Of course, she plays with them in the tub.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: This just made my day!

Lauren - Congrats on the lovely pendant, any chance you'll be posting a pic of it?;)

:rotfl: :rotfl: Now that is almost mean. ;) Funny, but almost mean. :lmao: :lmao: And I'm glad you asked, because I really wanted to.

Well no card for me, BUT I got the cutest stuffed animal it's an Italian beagle singing "Oh Solo Mio"(sp?) and a box of chocolates.

Tonight is Lost. I must get so work done so I can concentrate on that show. I'm getting more and more confused. Has anyone heard if they are going to show anymore of Grey's this season?

Lauren - I hope I didn't offend you about posting the pic of the pendant.:guilty:

Of course not! I actually took pics of our dinner and I must say......you did it again! Tom said it was the best dinner I ever cooked!!! He said that last night too! :worship: :worship: :worship: I will post the pics after dessert...

Janice, chocolate as an appetizer...:thumbsup2 Have any Rosa to go along with that?

Have you guys seen this smiley? Kinda perverted no? And I get into trouble for saying the female dog word! WTH? Why does the DIS Board have a smiley with his tongue waggin???? :confused3

OK, I know I prolly forgot something...I am sorry...too many cosmos! Ah, I only had 2 1/2 but all I ate today were carrots while making dinner. ;)

Lauren I am out of Rosa at the moment. I do have other wine, though
And where did your mind go Missy?

Your beagle baby sounds adorable!

Yeah, I was always the one to get in trouble so I guess it followed me to the DIS...

Yeah guys, I got a DIS warning since I said a bad word! Shame on me!

Janice - I just heard about the university shooting, how horrible. Prayers for all.:grouphug:

This was on our evening news as well. So sad :sad2:

Yummm!!!!! Good man you Sweetie!

I'm glad that Cailli is eating a little. It is awful when little ones cannot eat.

See yoou see what I was dealing with on that road! He usually drives one of those humongous trucks and had a stellar driving record but OMG that was one long wait!

Now did you say Leprechauns???????? Gargoyles???????:faint:

Thank you my friend. I never seem to have a dull moment here.

I have some of those cubes. I'm going to give them to Kady to play in the tub with, she will love that!

Well no card for me, BUT I got the cutest stuffed animal it's an Italian beagle singing "Oh Solo Mio"(sp?) and a box of chocolates.:rotfl::love:

I love that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You want to know what my poor guy did????? I gave him some brandy, said "Happy Valentine's Day" and he said "Thank You." I said what did you say????? He said "You too?" I said "that's not it" So he ends the whole thing by asking "What did I say?" :dance3: I give up :dance3:

Dinner was really good tonight. We had the roast pork...no glaze. Roasted root veggies, curried Sweets and baked potatoes, plain pork gravy. We'll have dessert after Kady is done with her bath. I have all of miy bunch here this evening except Jeff so they can all help Bud get those red hearts down.
Next time he'll remember the response to Happy Valentine's day :rolleyes1

Nan, this is priceless.....:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I'm a sometimes poster :) though not often enough. Lately nothing exciting's been coming out of my kitchen! Tonight Pizza Hut is cooking so I'm very excited about that. :worship: Last night I made broccoli casserole from my aunt's recipe and it was very yummy! I paired that with a zatarain's chicken creole mix made with veggie "chicken" strips. It was good though a touch salty I thought - probably because of the seasoning on the chicken. Hope everyone has a Happy Valentine's Day! :)

Kathy, I'm so, so, very sorry. Really I am. I know you and Lauren are best friends and you would never hurt her feelings for real and that you were just teasing her. I was trying to be funny and I was just stupid instead. Me and my big, fat mouth.

Please forgive me.

Gretchen - Please, I was just way too sensitive, obviously. I love Lauren & you so much, you guys mean the world to me. I don't know what I'd do without you guys.:)

I LOVE Alton Brown! So does Julius!

I'm trying to catch back up on the thread

I missed it tonight. :sad1: I felt like the VDay party was important to attend, though it was a hard decision to make. Was it a good one? I need to watch it online sometime this weekend.

:rotfl:

Corn casserole was another big hit - I doubled it (except the butter) and put it in a 9x13, and mixed some cheese into it, and every bit was eaten. That's why I always take it to potlucks - I never bring home leftovers!!

Hi my friends:flower3:
I read thru real quick ...wfd was actually lunch cause I am working evenings this week-shake and bake pork chops, baked potatoes and bavarian green beans with spaetzel..simple but yummy. My Valentines story is:

I met David on line about 2 years ago-and I moved here to be with him after an almost 25 yr(I made it-he didn't) marriage. He is so very good to me. This morning he asked if I got his e-card-I said no. (He is disabled and doesn't drive so unless he goes with me he doesn't go) So he asked if I was sure(umm yes) and then he says-well I wonder WHO I sent it to????:rotfl2:
and..."I hope it wasn't a man":rotfl2:

So I had to work at 1pm and I get to work and they said-there's flowers for you..I said NO theres not...but there were-with a card that said-A rose for each year we've been together...I love you. AWWWWW. He is a keeper.
