Well, that is a really good son you have there! If he can come back that soon & tell you he won't show up late, you are definitely doing something right!!!:goodvibes

Thanks, Sheryl. He is a good kid.

Stephanie -- It's wonderful that you are able to help out your sister. How many children does she have?

Nancy -- Hugs and prayers for you and your family in this difficult time.

I'm taking it on the plane with me - which, btw, just pulled up to the gate! It looks like I may actually get home!!!!!!!!!
:yay:

Since I already made everyone crave fried fish, I guess you won't mind some pics too. :) Liam was funny (and yes, he was on time!). He usually says grace, which is brief and the same every night. However, tonight he added, "and thanks for this fabulous, giant dinner!!" His plate was pretty loaded, and it was mostly empty when he was done.

I did make fries...the kids would protest otherwise...but I didn't have enough of any one kind, so I made three: sweet potato, shoestring and sea salt wedges (all packaged frozen fries):

And the only healthy part of the meal...the haricot verts:

No place special, Bob's picking it up for me, so it's easier if it's drive-thru. It's Cajun Daiquiris & Seafood on Barataria. They really do have really good fried seafood, onion rings & their barbecue plates are also delish!
and oh yeah, they have diaquiris too!

I only wish Adam's was on his way! Adam's catfish is 2nd to only Middendorf's in my book!

Sheryl - I decided to do just that, stay home. I haven't been feeling that great today, kinda achy & scratchy throat. I thought the game was at Shaw but it's in Sorrento. I'm not up to driving an hour to sit outside and freeze. I hate missing his games but this is just the beginning of the season, there are many, many more.:guilty:
Kathy Take care I hope you can get over your sickness before it gets a good grip.

Yeh your going home. I hope you flight is smooth. I love those cinnamon dolce grande

We had a soup made from leftover chicken from last night. Kind of like a noodle bowl.

4c water
2 pkg ramen noodle soup mix oriental flavor
1c fresh spinach leaves torn into pieces
2 oz snow peas cut in half crosswise
1/2c shredded carrots
1can sliced water chestnuts drained
1tsp sesame oil
1 1/2c chopped rotisserie chicken
2 medium green onions chopped

in 3quart pan heat water to boiling. Add noodles, spinach, pea pods, carrots and water chestnuts. cook 3 minutes stirring occasionally.

stir in seasoning packets sesame oil, chicken and onions. Cook 1-2 minutes or until chicken is hot. Makes 4 servings

I left out the water chestnuts.

I left out the water chestnuts.

Thanks Janice. I really think what I'm suffering from is allergies, it's been really bad lately.

I can't stand water chestnuts.

They are not my friends either ;) The soup is really good though.

I will be making my cold buster tonight before I go to sleep, since I work this weekend. (Grand Marnier)good for what ailes you :rotfl:

Kath, I have an appt with the rheumatologist in a few weeks. I've heard there is a new med out to treat fibromyalgia, I'm hoping that's his suggestion. Last time I saw him, he wanted me so doped up on muscle relaxers, I wasn't able to function.

I wanted to tell you I heard of a treatment that was new. It's weird that I saw it becasue I really do not know what fibromyalgia is. I hope that he helps you, you have been achy too long.

Thought for sure Kyle's baseball game would be canceled this afternoon because of all the rain we had last night and this morning but no.......we're playing and it's cold and windy outside.:cold:

Gails girls are in Delaware I think. Debbie was flying out tonoght to meet the team, they play in all kinds f weather also, I remember freezing on those darn bleachers!

Now take something for those allergies. I did not know I had them and was so sick, so please do not wait.

John emailed me and said he just wants cheese, bread, and wine for dinner. I can manage that!

Nice dinner ;)

Dinner for me was a fish sandwich from Wendies but I like Mickey D"s better. Buddie had a "big ole tuna grinder" and two fish sandwiches. :rotfl::rotfl:

Evening everyone! It has been a great day here! Sunny, warm and just all around spring like! I went to Cheesecake Factory for lunch with some of my bowling buddies. I had the reuben sandwich and I was really disappointed in it! There was just a really weird aftertaste! I should have gone with my first choice which was the lunch portion of the barbecue ranch salad. Oh well. Next time. I did get a slice of Carrot Cake Cheesecake, and it is so yummy I can't begin to describe it! Since I can only eat it a couple of bites at a time before my system goes into overload, I can really savor it for the next couple of days! Yummm.

Dinner tonight was leftovers again. Alan made some sticky rice which we rolled into balls and dipped into Asian hot sauce. The kids ate chili, mac and cheese and salad. It was really good!

Tomorrow should be great, though. My BIL is making BBQ ribs for us. We are having a huge family party (no reason, we just all want ribs), and Scott is doing the ribs while the rest of us do the sides. I'm making the spicy coleslaw!!! Can't wait!!!!!

I am not sure if this site has ever been shared before. As much as you folks love to cook and this is one, if not my favorite thread, :D I thought I'd share this site. Someone on one of my other boards posted it and I LOVE it. If you subscribe (like here), you can create your own cookbook (adding your own or recipes already on the site to a personal 'cookbook'). You can also contribute and add "friends" (so if you add a recipe, I see it, if I am your friend).
Let me know if you do join, so I can add you as a friend. I think it might have a referal program, but I am not into that really. I saw something after the fact. Maybe it is something that could be done but isn't? I dunno.

BakeSpace.com
I am lachesis there or rachelinaz@gmail.com if it wants an email. I haven't contributed, but man oh man am I finding the recipes!! :D

Well I am off to back read this thread. Been a while since I've read here. Lack of internet and some wicked flu for over a week, does not make a happy me!!

Today we are going to Chili's, so no cooking for me.

WFD at your house?

Anyway, here is the pizza recipe, such that it is:

What kind of pizza is this? I think I missed it somewhere. I will fix the index if you tell me :)

***If you see any mistakes I have made in the index, please let me know. Thanks!!!***

Lindsay,
Index looks great...thanks for taking the time to do it!

We all actually are feeling better and getting our appetites back.
Last night Luke and I went out for the first time in almost 2 weeks. It was so nice to go out and eat with my Mom. After Mom babysat so I could run to the grocery store.

WFD- We are going to have 'stuffies' as an appetizer. (I bought these at a local fish market) I am doing something DH loves pork chops and applesauce. Side dishes will be determined later.

I am busy planning my parents 50th Anniversary party. We are having it at the Lafayette House in Ma. Boy it is alot of work! I am the only girl in a family of seven. Sometimes I just hate being the one in charge.

Ann

Morning All!

I missed alot...I hope everyone is well.

Nancy, Thoughts and prayers still for your family.

Sheryl, Kathy, Janice: Hope you guys are feeling better.

Becky, Glad hubby is home...yes, that meal John requested sounds romantic!

Laura, Great pics!

Briarmom, that recipe looks great!

Stephanie, What a nice thing to do for your sister. People get crazy when they go through a divorce. I have some stories I could share. My ex was a doozie, still is at times.

Aimee, glad you are finally home!

Glad you are feeling better! We LOVE to hear about planning! hint hint! Its so nice that you are planning a party for your parents. I just went through planning my wedding and it was fun! Not sure if you are doing favors but I have a great distributor for candy if you are interested.

*************
We are running speaker wire today and hopefully preparing the fireplace for the insert and stone...I think we are going out tonight but we are due for bad rains, so we'll see.

Have a great day all!

I would love to look at the :goodvibes distributor site if you do not mind giving it to me. I want to do favors but my DBs do not see it as a needed expense, Men! I may just buy them on my own and not tell them. I love planning when it does not involve so many others. I would love to be more creative with food choices but the others are not daring.

Thanks,
Ann

No clue. We're flying from Alaska to AZ, getting in at 5:30pm AZ time.

Alot of people do not do favors anymore. We were up in the air with them as well but saw some ideas for a candy buffet and knew that is what we wanted to do...this is the company we used. They were really nice...I worked with Scott who was the owner. We also bought cake boxes from them.

I also have to share a pic of the buffet...everyone loved it!

Good luck, I'm sure you'll do a fine job!

WFD - The shrimp artichoke linguine I didn't cook yesterday.:upsidedow

Your welcome. It is a neat site. I am finding out a lot of Chinese dishes we like are not as hard as I thought :D or even time consuming. Makes me wonder why I pay $9 a dish :rotfl2:

I fibbed. I am not flying home until Tuesday. But we've been living mostly on take out which I am tiring fast of. My dad doesn't like 'messes' in the kitchen :headache: so it leaves little option.

Thanks, looks interesting!!
